I trudged into the kitchen with my hood up, the hoodie was from an anime called Bull Tin Scientist that I saw when I was younger. "What's wrong?" Damian asked with a coffee cup in hand and face still a little pink. I couldn't help but stare at his gun again, "uh...nothing. Just a little tired and on edge." Trying not to mention what he probably saw, he noticed that I was staring at his gun, "was it in your nightmare?" I didn't know if I could tell him, I just sat there in a daze until it played back through my head. I let out a heavy sigh. "I was sitting in my room, covered in blood, trembling, crying, and I had killed another person. I didn't know what was going on except that you were trying to wake me up for work. Then a bullet went through my chest.......when I looked for the shooter it was you," I said the whole thing as if I was a robot until I got to the end, my voice quivered. He is the first friend I've had since Kayla left and I already dreamed that he killed me, it felt so real. He stood there opening and closing his mouth as if he didn't know what to say, until he finally spoke, "even if you killed someone else, which you swore you wouldn't do, I would never shoot you. But I would handcuff you." "Such a tease," Ace chuckled. I nibbled on a pancake that he had made, "ok..." He took the pancake from my hand and set it on a plate, "just relax and eat the hotcakes like a normal person. We still have a few hours before we have to leave for work. So eat, shower, read, play games, whatever you want to do. I don't care. Just relax." I shrugged, "wanna play some Horderlands 2 with me?" He grinned, "I call Braxton." I giggled, "then I'll be Layla."

When we got to the station Damian kept going over some facts about this suspect, it took so long to grab the guy that he wanted to make sure that I remembered. He will be in the room with me, asking the guy whatever questions I have, but I was still super nervous. "Ok Cas, you won't be with the suspect alone, always remember that. I will be asking questions that you wrote down and you will be behind-" he pushed me out of the way as a man that was handcuffed and sitting on a bench tackled him. The man stood up, with no cuffs now, and he went to punch me. I dodged his punch and his fist hit the wall. He seemed to not like that at all, he went to grab me but I moved out of his reach. Damian got up off the ground and punched him in the back of the head. Two other cops tackled him to the ground after he fought with Damian for a couple of minutes. I leaned over Damian's shoulder and the guy was unconscious. "Idiot," Ace spat out. "Those self-defense classes that your dad forced you to take worked wonders," Thorn said with a smile. Cas, are you ok?" Damian asked as he checked me over for cuts or bruises. I slapped his hands away, "I'm fine, and you're lucky I didn't...do anything to him..." I saw there was blood pouring down Damian's face, "Damian, you're bleeding!" He touched the blood, "oh it's just a flesh wound." I was stunned, "you could have brain damage or something!" He sat down on the bench while I asked an officer for a first aid kit, "care to help me then?" "You can't touch the blood, it may give you back those memories," Thorn sounded worried. I don't care, I'm going to help him.

I sat on the bench next to him and I was dealing with a wincing detective that acted like he was dying. "Do you not work well with medicine?" I asked when he clenched his teeth as I put a bandage on. "It doesn't like me," he rubbed his head, "but thank you." I held the cotton ball in my hand and stared at the blood. I quickly threw it away and stood up abruptly, "I'm sorry, I uh, need to use the restroom." He was confused but he didn't stop me. I was so nervous and my whole body was trembling. I numbly walked down to the cellblock and entered an empty cell, I sat down against the wall and hugged my knees. "Relax Cas, it was just blood," Ace teased. Thorn was quiet the whole time I stared at the wall, I guess he didn't know what to say. An officer knocked on the wall of the cell. "Miss Mathews, you are needed for questioning." I stood up slowly and steadied myself on the wall, "help me walk please." He hurried over to me and helped me to the interrogation rooms. "I'm curious as to why they didn't stop you from coming down here," Ace was very confused.

The man we were to question was obnoxiously twitching, at the sight of him my body sobered up. "I don't like him, he seems strange to me," Thorn hissed. "Well Damian has to question him," I told him as if I were trying to get a tiger to trust me. Ace laughed, "may I question him?" I thought for a moment and then, "I'll ask Damian if you can." Damian stood between me and the chief while we stood in the observation room, he was talking about the questions he would ask but I interrupted, "um chief, I was wondering if I could question him myself. I'm skilled in detecting lies." She rubbed her jaw in thought and then looked upon Damian, "I have some concerns, but Damian will be in there with you in case it goes south. The other officers and I will be here, you call if you need us." I nodded and reached for the door handle, but Damian grabbed my wrist, "be careful about the questions you ask, if he calls for a lawyer we are screwed." I swallowed the lump in my throat, "Ace is going to be asking the questions." "What?" He is the one that can detect lies, he may joke around a lot but he hates liars. It was too late to go back, I was already in the room. "You heard him, Ace, be careful of the questions you ask," I said with a little fire.

I sat in the cold metal chair that was set at the table, Damian stood behind me and then slid a folder to me. "He has a clean record," he was so stiff in his demeanor, "not even a parking ticket." I laughed under my breath and then whispered, "I had a clean record too." Damian gave me a stern look and then straightened up. I stared into the man's eyes that were cold and empty. I felt a cold shiver go up my spine. "Don't do anything stupid Ace," I said as he was about to open my mouth. He laughed, "this is me you are talking to." The color drained from the man's face suddenly as my body language changed, "what do you want from me? I did nothing wrong!" I felt my body loosen up and Ace began his questioning, "where were you on the night of the murder?" The man looked from the window to me, and then to Damian, "I already answered these questions to the detectives. Just let me go, I didn't do anything wrong." He was growing frantic and was sweating immensely. "Just answer my question. Where were you on the night of the murder?" Ace was getting angry, he hates when people avoid his direct questions. The man dabbed at his sweat with his tie, "I was at work." Ace just kept staring at him with my cold eyes, "says in your record that you were fired three weeks prior." That made the man's eyes widen. "I guess Lance never mentioned that one to him," Ace said with a bit of pride. The man pulled at his collar, sweat dripped onto his shirt, "I was trying to talk to my old boss to get my job back." Ace tilted my head towards Damian, "what time does his job close?" Damian shrugged and looked down at the file we made, "six o'clock." Ace looked back to the man who was biting his lower lip. "Ok!" the man slammed his fists on the table, "I lied about where I was but I didn't kill those people! I don't know who they are or why they were killed, I was just at a strip club with some pals having some fun." "He is telling the truth," Ace said with confidence. Ace looked over to Damian, "he's clean." Damian motioned for an officer to remove the man.

As I took control back Damian patted me on the shoulder, you did great Cas." I smiled, "well I technically didn't do anything." He looked at me funny and the chief stepped over to us, "what do you mean?" I avoided her gaze and fiddled with the zipper on my jacket, "well...the two other voices in my head...they can take over my body." She looked at me shocked and I thought I saw a bit of concern in her eyes. But Damian smiled at me, "she explained them to me, one of them is Ace. She mentioned him before the questioning." She sighed, "I wasn't sure what you meant by that, but now I understand and I trust you enough not to pry." Before the officers took the guy out the door he looked at me in realization, "you are Castiel Mathews, the serial killer!" He fought the police officers to get away from me. "Yes she is, and she broke you. Now get him out of here," the Chief ordered. I stood up and left the station to go on a walk.

I shouldn't have let them take him away yet, I forgot to have Ace ask him one last question. I wondered if his friends at the strip club were the two other suspects. I mean the victims could be patrons of the club, they could scout for victims there. As my thoughts trailed away I noticed that I was just blindly walking down the street. "Way to go Cas," Ace teased. I wasn't sure where I was, things had changed since I was put away. "Well this is just great," I pulled out my cell phone. I never had a smartphone before now so using the google maps thing was a little difficult. I knew that once I got home that Damian was going to kill me, "it's getting late. Where did the time go?"
