Planes have always been my biggest fear. I didn't realize how bad of an idea it was to bring an autistic teen with teleportation abilities around their biggest fear. Until it was too late. A groaning noise filled the stale air as the plane rocked back and forth violently. The sound sent chills down my spine. Suddenly, for a split second gravity started to loosen it's grip on us. It felt like the pilot had let go of the steering wheel. And yes, only one pilot. My dad rented a private plane for this trip. And the pilot had no problem flying alone at a cheaper cost when his partner was sick and unable to fly.

My mother unbuckled herself and sat next to me. She was worried about me, I know by the way she grabbed my hand. She chuckled encouragingly as she felt the sweat in my palms. "It's okay Randy. This is normal." Her attempt to comfort me only added more stimulation to the situation surrounding me. My breath kept escaping me and it felt like I was beginning to hyperventilate. "Sure mom, just as normal as riding a sled down an erupting volcano." I said in-between breathes. She grinned at my attempt of a joke. "It's just turbulence, baby. It's fine, I promise."

The plane jerked hard to the left and my mom flew across the cab. I felt the blood drain from my face and hyperventilation kicked in. It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest. She let out a painful cry as she fell hard into the seats across the row. "Violette! Are you okay? Get buckled! Now!" My father yelled at her, his voice straining from how loud he yelled. His wild black hair did not compare to the intense look in his eyes. He was scared. This wasn't normal. I felt the energy in my body building, my muscles tensed and my limbs began to tingle. I touched my finger tips to finger tips to try to center myself but it didn't work.

I was going to teleport our plane somewhere and there was nothing I could do about it. And by the look on my mom's face, she knew what was coming next. Her face was pale and her rosy cheeks didn't seem so pink anymore. I didn't have control. She moved her brunette hair out of her face and said calmly. "Randy, it's okay honey. I'm getting buckled right now." There was nothing I could do. Before we knew it, a chalky purple aura sucked our plane into itself.

The plane was ripped violently from side to side as we rotated in the air. I felt my body begin to bruise against the seat belt locking me into place. But my mom wasn't buckled. I watched horrified as her lifeless body flung across the plane's cabin over and over again. I knew she was already dead. There was nothing we could do. Tears streamed down my face as I watch my fathers face twist into a look of despair. My dad's voice cracked as he shouted desperately. "Violette! No! Oh god no, not my Violette!" My dad kept yelling at the top of his lungs. He had no idea what was going on. He never knew. Only my mother knew about my magic abilities, I got them from her.

The windows shattered before we felt the impact. Glass flew in my face and I squeezed my eyes shut. The plane jolted back and forth as it slid across foreign land, colliding with a tree every couple of seconds causing the plane to jerk hard in one direction or another until we came to a stop. My mom was dead. And my dad was screaming with pain. He fumbled out of his seat belt and rushed to my mother's body.

I stood and cried as I watched my dad cradle her. He caressed her face and felt her hair as he cried and screamed. All I could think about was how it was completely my fault. It was about an hour later when my dad had accepted the fact that she was gone and decided to burry her. He took her into the woods privately and did it. I think that was for the best. He later told me that he marked her grave and had buried the pilot as well.

Other than that he hadn't said anything to me this whole time. I had no idea what was running through his head. Did he even see what happened? I just wanted to know. "Dad. I'm really sorry." I said quietly. He turned to me, with glossy brown eyes. "It's not your fault son." He put his hand between my shoulder blades and pulled me in for a hug. Holding me tight and kissing my head. I sobbed into his shirt.

My poor mother. She didn't deserve that. "I'm sorry too Randy. She is your mother as well as the love of my life." I hugged him back. "Did you see what happened dad?" I managed to ask, no matter how hard I tried my voice still cracked. "No son, I'm not sure what happened. Sometimes these things just happen. Now look. We need to find help okay? I want you to search the wreckage and look for food and water that might be of use still."

I nodded stiffly, "Okay, dad." I looked back at the wreckage, looking at it made my stomach churn. Behind the wreckage there were two great waterfalls pouring down a cliff. The sunlight shimmered on it like liquid gold. At the bottom an arc of vibrant colors illuminated the water and mist. I noticed the sound roaring in my ears, all the commotion must have blocked out the sound. I pointed it out and said, "We could go there for water." He paused for a minute and furrowed his brows. He looked as if he was debating hard on what to do. Then nodded slightly once, but it looked directed more to himself than it was to me. "I'll go. You wait here and look for food and anything we can use as a knife and for fire."

And with that he turned on his heel and started towards the falls. For a minute I walked around the wreckage not really looking for anything specific. Instead I was kicking rocks around, blaming myself. But no matter how much I blamed myself. It wouldn't bring her back. Suddenly I heard a branch snap in the woods. I froze in my tracks. My heart began to pound excitedly and I knew adrenaline had kicked in.

I tried to spark a vision of the future but I was so drained from teleporting that I couldn't. My mind was racing as I thought of what it could be. A bear? A deer? It couldn't be a person could it? Would they even speak English? Where did we land? Part of me wanted to shout for my dad. But the other part knew that was a bad idea and that he wouldn't hear me. My feet were heavy in place as the suspense grew.

Again there was a sound in the woods. By now my heart sounded like a train in my ears. "Hello?" I asked aloud hesitantly. I heard two clicks of a tongue from behind and I spun on my heel so fast I stumbled. When I finally found my footing I looked up and my eyes locked with two intimidating sky blue eyes. They were so vibrant that they were almost glowing. Or were they slightly glowing in the dark woods? The scowl that went with them made the man's face look gloomy and forbidding. He was oddly beautiful. His facial features were perfectly proportionate. He had a slightly long face with a pointed nose and chin. His skin was a flawless creamy white color. He looked like a beautiful woman disguised as a man.

Seeing the human like eyes calmed my racing heart, I sighed in relief. Help was here. "Who are you?" The thin pair of pink lips pulled up in one corner, "You're a human." The voice was laced with enthusiasm in a way that sent chills down my spine. The voice was definitely a man's, but it had a touch of femininity to it. I was confused as to how to respond to such an odd statement from such an odd man.

I took a closer look at the man. He was propped against a thick grey pine tree. Pale, almost white, blond hair flowed down his back against the tree. It was long and looked well taken care of. It shined in the small rays of sunlight. It was completely devoid of volume, falling flat against his back like pale gold ribbons. His outfit was completely leather and there was a wooden bow in one hand. But that wasn't the odd part, as far as I knew archers were pretty common in forest areas. The freaky part was this man had a tail and long pointed ears.
