Empire of Kreocaea

“Excuse me?” The abandoned king stood tall with the narrowing of that golden eye, the usual hazel-blue having disappeared hours ago.
Kremva continued to keep her head bowed in respect with both eyes closed, fearful of the abandoned king’s refusal. Without him, Nyota might die. There are other shifters in her empire but time is limited. By the time her people come back with someone willing to help, something could happen to Nyota.
“I apologize for the sudden request but the matter is urgent. I hope you don’t feel too burdened by it,” Kremva responded in a soft voice, trying not to come off as rude.
No matter how much Silios thought about it, for the empress of Kreocaea to bow her head was strange enough. To go out of her way to request the help of the abandoned king? For the kingmaker, at that?
Silios couldn’t help the dark look that approached his face while glaring at the empress who had yet to raise her head.
Either way, he doesn’t have the time to deal with this. If that woman ends up dying before solving the problem, things will get worse. Not only has Silios lost 3 days of sleep since his meeting with the kingmaker but the news of those young pups... the numbers are growing.
Silios had tried to ignore the situation, still hurt from how the world had turned its back on him. Yet walking through the city just to hear news of how young wolf shifters are being killed. For the last 3 days, he awoke to the word of more tragedy. It was making the man regret having turned the kingmaker down that night. Maybe a lot of lives could’ve been saved.
“Bring me to her...”
“Thank you, Silios Vasseril. The Empress of Kreocaea is in your debt,” With that, the woman stood straight and turned around to lead him out of her office. It was hard for Kremva to hide the relief flowing through her body. If it’s one thing she knew about Silios, is that this isn’t an act of kindness.
If saving the kingmaker can make things better, Silios will do it.
Not for the kingdom of Eshea but for all the young wolves who are losing their lives pointlessly. King Volke is far more of a tyrant than what the rumors say, a vile creature that made Silios sick to his stomach. After the kingmaker sought him out, he did his best to gather information on the place that had once been under his protection.
A land that had now been beautiful is now in ruins. The rumors in other countries didn’t compare to the intelligence that returned to him. Silios can see why the goddess would send her chosen one to look for someone. Though the disrespect of expecting him to take the throne was unacceptable.
The audacity of the gods... it crosses lines.
Yet... as soon as the man entered the bathing room to see that beautiful woman from earlier now lay asleep in the water. The only thing holding her above the large bathtub was a cloaked person who smelled of magic. No longer did that strong and brave kingmaker look so powerful.
Not while she lay unconscious with that smooth brown skin that didn’t seem to shine like it did the first time he’d seen her.
The dark sleeping gown stuck to every curve of that perfectly sculpted body, he couldn’t help but wonder if she usually wears such revealing sleepwear. Silios had to shake his head a little to remember why he was even here. This silent and peaceful life he created has gotten too loud.
This was the woman that would stop king Volke... but he had to save her first.
“Alright... what do I have to do?”
