A Few Hours Later, The Same Day
Charlotte woke up, yawning as she sat up. She groaned, feeling a headache come on as she looks around, the events from early slowly come to memory. Feeling embarrassed, Charlotte got up and called one of her cousins, luckily she had a family member who cleaned cars for a living. She got up from the couch, finally taking notice in Dallas, who was asleep on the other side of the couch. He must’ve wanted to make sure she was fine, the thought caused her to blush, Dallas seemed to be more sweet than any other guy she’d known. Any other guy would’ve tried to take advantage of her in her time of need, then left her.
Smelling food, Charlotte walks out of the living, crossing the hall to enter the kitchen. That’s where she saw the pot of chicken noodle soup on the stove. She opened the oven and saw the tray of grilled cheese, causing her to smile widely. “He made food for me.” She whispers as she takes the tray out of the oven and sits it on the counter before grabbing a bowl and plate out of the cabinets.
As she poured some of the soup into the bowl, she heard a few shuffling noises before Dallas walked into the kitchen. “Hey, did you sleep well?” He asks as he walks over to her and places the back of his hand on her forehead, she knew that she was still burning up, but she ignored it, mainly because she was used to getting sick. “You’re still burning up. The chicken noodle soup should help, just a bit. I saw that you ran out of medicine, so I ran to the store and picked some up.” Dallas spoke as he placed two grilled cheese sandwiches on the plate before grabbing a clean spoon and handing it to her.
”You are literally like, the sweetest person ever. You didn’t have to do all of this, or stay here with me.” Charlotte said as she sat at the table and took a bite out of one of the sandwiches, a slight hum of approval escapes her mouth. “Mmm, this is amazing. Oh, I’ll get your car cleaned, by the way, I’m so sorry about that, and so embarrassed.”
Dallas laughs and leans against the counter. “I did it because I wanted to. And, you don’t have to, I already got it cleaned.” She spoke as he grabbed a water bottle out the fridge and opened it.
”Then let me pay you.” She says before eating the soup.
”No.”
”But it was my mess, I’m paying you back.” She says, crossing her arms as if say: I’m not changing my mind. Dallas sighs and nods his head, knowing nothing would change the stubborn girl’s mind. 164Please respect copyright.PENANAgq3qbZntsC

“Okay, fine, whatever.” He says as Charlotte uncrosses her arms, smile and goes back to eating.164Please respect copyright.PENANAAj2i6dTiUB
”I could skip school tomorrow, come here and chill with you, if you need some company.” Dallas suggest as he takes a seat at the table. “Where is your parents?” He asks out of the blue, causing Charlotte to look up at him with her big light brown eyes.
”No, don’t skip school just for me, I can find something to keep me busy with throughout the day. And, they are currently somewhere in Rome.” She says as she keeps eating her food, her eyes going back to her food.
”Then I’m definitely staying here with you tomorrow. You literally fainted earlier, something worse can happen and nobody would be here to make sure you’re fine.” Dallas says, stating the truth.
