Elora is the first lady for her best friend (also known as the Princess of the Aquafaires), Adelina. She's vowed to serve her wherever she goes. So, when Adelina is forced to go live with her betrothed in the Lightfaries kingdom she has to follow, naturally.

There she meets Xylon, her best friends betrothed, who seems to have an interest in her instead of his fiancée.
