I turn around the corner and run into someone. Camri falls back, but my reflexes jump and catch her before she hits the floor. I gently pull her back up.
“Sorry,” I mumble as I duck away.
“He totally likes you,” I hear one of Camri’s friends whisper when they think I am out of ear shot.
Girls. I see my group of friends standing in the hallway and walk over to them.
“Logan! Which do you think is better? An AR15 or a shotgun?” one of my friends asks.
“An AR15. It has more power.”
“But with a shotgun, you can do two bullets at a time,” Jacob says.
“But a shotgun just isn’t that cool. An AR15 is for big boys,” Seth sides with me.
“True,” Jacob agrees, “But who here has enough money to get a AR15?”
Everyone is silent.
“My point exactly,” Jacob says.
My dad walks up behind me and taps my shoulder. “We’re leaving,” my dad says then moves on to get my brother.
I wave to my friends then jog to catch up with my dad.
