It was a rather hot afternoon at school . I was the one incharge to pick up all the basket balls after P.E. as I hardly ever participate in the games. I quickly did that and freshened up. The teacher kept blabbering away scoldings to the boys for some random reason and that's when it happened. As the boys walked out of the classroom a tall figure stood at the door with the sun shining on him. His black hair neatly lay over his head in an overgrown buzzcut, brushing over his eyebrows. Eyes wrinkled with laughter and a smirk plastered across his face.
As I looked I did not realize I was staring. His eyes met mine and I held his gaze for what seemed like an eternity. Before Mr. Thompson screamed at him from the lobby. My senses were back to my surroundings. The remaining boys started giggling very well aware of what just happened , while the girls were busy chatting . He was the popular fun guy and I was the secluded mystery girl. Just great.I grabbed a piece of paper from my pouch and ran to the girls restroom nearby.
After I was fully convinced that the place was desserted I locked myself in a cubicle. Carefully openning the scrunched up paper. It revealed a picture of a man , badly drawn. 'They are almost the same. Just different races. ' I gasped.
Footsteps. Someone was there. I quickly hurried out of the cubicle almost bumping into that person. The picture fell out of my hand . I looked down at , him , it was him picking it up. He opened it and stared. Before anything was said or done I snatched the piece of paper and ran.
Gratefully the term was over in a couple of weeks. But those weeks were filled with avoiding each other and stealing glances between classes. It was the hardest thing for me to look. Whenever I looked at him , all I saw was that person in the picture. I can't fall for yet another lookalike of Daniel. I would rather die.
