My name is Bucky. I am a black and brown-furred Doberman Retriever Pup. I was born with autism and the world around me feels misunderstood. I was all alone in a harsh and bleak world where I felt nobody truly cared about me. Jason my new owner has been taking really good care of me after he found me. I was lost in Adventure City when he found me. The city was so big yet I was so very small.

The day was bright and the sky was blue. The gentle grass swayed playfully in the gentle spring breeze. I enjoyed a game of chase within the farm yard. Life in Pawledo has been quiet and I have long enjoyed the silence of the country after moving away from the city—the city I never want to go back to, as those memories still sometimes haunt me.

I was galloping playfully in the apple field. I was looking to get my chase on with a small pink and purple butterfly. It kept fluttering away from me as I was determined to catch him. “Arf Arf!” I growl as he flies away from my playful grasp once again. I decided to rough up a loose stick from the old oak tree that stood in the middle of the apple field between two of the apple trees. I yanked on the stick hard and my name was soon called by Jason’s voice to come inside for a water break. “Coming Jason!” I yell back hoping he can hear me. I begin to run back from the orchard and through the main backyard. I ran up to the back porch where Jason stood wearing his white t-shirt and overalls with his black boots. He places down a water bowl full of water and Ice cubes.

“So Bucky, I have a surprise for you. I just got word from Grandma that we are going to be selling the farm and moving to Adventure Bay. One of the Paw Patrol members has a brother who owns a school for puppies to learn things we humans can do. I think that would be pretty cool and good for you. You could become a first-response pup just like them!” Jason exclaimed with excitement. I spat out my water in shock. “What! Sell the farm?! I can’t go! I love it too much to leave!” “I know this is hard for you, but trust me. Adventure Bay will be a lot better because there are better opportunities there. Especially for you!” I looked down at my water as Jason went inside. Leave behind the farm? Where will we go? A school for pups like me? I couldn’t help but nearly cry. I am leaving the farm. A home I knew for a long time all for somewhere I don’t know much about other than the Paw Patrol. Every pup knows about them. What can I do at that school? How would I even fit in? What would be my purpose other than the farm? A lot of thoughts were going through my head. These are fears I would soon have to face.
