Emily trudged through the abandoned asylum, her boots echoing off the decaying walls. She'd always been drawn to these places, not for the thrill or fear. But to see if anything can bring up her mood, especially if she's had a long day.64Please respect copyright.PENANAx4rfB7sbiM
Just like she did today.
As she explored, cobwebs clung to her face, and she brushed them away with a sigh. "Seriously, can't these places keep their spiders under control?"
A door creaked, and Emily rolled her eyes. "Great, another dramatic entrance."
She pushed the door open, revealing a room filled with rusted medical equipment. In the center, a decrepit operating table seemed to wait for its next victim.
Emily approached, inspecting the table with a critical eye. "This is so cliché. Can't these horror places come up with something new?"
Suddenly, the lights flickered, and Emily groaned. "Of course. Because a horror story isn't complete without a power outage."
Shadows danced across the walls as Emily fumbled for her flashlight. The beam illuminated a figure strapped to the table.
Emily's expression remained unimpressed. "Another victim, how original."
The figure's eyes snapped open, and Emily raised an eyebrow. "You're still alive? That's just inconvenient."
As the figure began to scream, Emily covered her ears. "Can you please keep it down? Some of us are trying to explore."
The screaming grew louder, and Emily's annoyance peaked. "Seriously, stop. You're being dramatic."
She approached the table, examining the restraints. "These are pretty flimsy. You should be able to break free."
The figure's eyes widened as Emily began to unstrap them. "No, don't! You'll let it out!"
Emily raised an eyebrow. "Let what out?"
The figure's response was drowned out by the sound of shattering glass. A horde of grotesque creatures poured into the room, their twisted bodies defying human anatomy.
Emily sighed. "Great, just what I needed. More clichés."
As the creatures closed in, Emily pulled out a small can of pepper spray. "This is going to be a long night."
She sprayed the creatures, momentarily blinding them. "You know, for monstrous abominations, you're surprisingly susceptible to pepper spray."
Emily dragged the freed figure out of the room, navigating through the asylum's labyrinthine corridors.
They stumbled upon a door hidden behind a tattered curtain. Emily pushed it open, revealing a room filled with ancient artifacts.
The figure gasped. "This is the ritual chamber."
Emily's eyes scanned the room. "Finally, something interesting."
A dark, pulsing portal dominated the center of the room. Emily approached, intrigued.
The figure grabbed her arm. "Don't go near it! It's the gateway to—"
Emily shook them off. "Oh, spare me the dramatics."
She stepped through the portal, and the world around her dissolved into chaos.
Emily found herself in a realm of eternal darkness, surrounded by twisted, eldritch horrors.
Her expression remained unimpressed. "This is just a typical Tuesday."
A massive, tentacled creature emerged from the shadows.
Emily pulled out her phone. "Can someone please tell me where the nearest Starbucks is? This place needs some serious caffeine."
The creature lunged, its jaws open wide.
Emily sighed. "Not this again."
As the creature's teeth closed around her, Emily muttered, "I'm going to need a raise."

Epilogue:
Emily walked out of the asylum, sipping a Starbucks coffee.
The figure, now freed, approached her. "Thank you... I don't understand how you—"
Emily interrupted. "Look, it's simple: I expected much more than that."
The figure stared, bewildered.
Emily checked her watch. "I have a meeting with a realtor. This asylum is going to make a great Airbnb."
As Emily walked away, the figure whispered, "She's not from around here, is she?"
