Take this as my craft: a flicker well-lit,

a tome unbound, ink pooled on paper thick.

Step into the city where books softly breathe,

shelves leaning heavy with thought's woven skein,

each spine a sentinel of souls long stilled,

each page a portal to twilight unsealed.

I am a writer, a poet, a weaver of dreams,

an alchemist forging both letters and themes.

I wield my pen as a compass, bold and true,

charting seas of silence, mapping meaning anew.

We, the scribes of truths that slip through grasping hands,

shape shadows into substance, name the unnamed lands.

Our labor is patience: to hunt the errant phrase,

tethering rhythm to thought, and thought to blazing grace,

polishing words 'til they gleam like glass in firelight,

Archivists of the heart's unspoken ache,

custodians of joy, despair, and all they make,

We fashion from metaphor the threads of life,

unraveling chaos, yet courting its strife.

To write is to wrestle with paradox stark:

to dwell in solitude, yet yearn for the spark;

to shape order from discord, to revel in disorder's reign,

to craft each line with precision, yet embrace the strain.

Each page a contradiction, each stroke a fight,

fingers calloused from grappling the void's deep night.

Our days are measured in drafts and the grind,

the scratch of the pen etching thoughts refined.

Layer on layer, we shape and reveal,

like wood carved by time, each cut laid to heal.

Revising, rewriting, undoing to create,

chasing perfection through the labyrinth of fate.

To read! Oh, the feast, the scholar's delight,

to plunder libraries, to take flight

With the greats whose whispers linger still,

in the margins of our work, their echoes spill.

We toil where silence meets eternity's roar,

where language is legacy, and legacy soars.

Each word once written, set loose and alive,

immortal as stars, through dark they survive,

Blazing trails in the firmament of human mind,

a testament to all we leave behind.
