It started of as any other day, having to wake up and get ready for school. As I was walking out the door, I bent down to pet my dog Ellie. As soon as I touched her fur, I felt strange. My stomach tied into a knot and my head started spinning. Thankfully it only lasted like three seconds. "Whoa, that was weird." I thought as I continued my way out the door. I was about to walk out but was stopped. "Not you Ellie." I heard my mom's voice say. "Huh?" I tilted my head, "I'm not Ellie!" I tried to say, but no words came out just a bark. As soon as I heard myself bark, I looked down at my feet but saw only paws. Then I realized that weird three seconds had changed me into my dog. I went to my room, jumped up onto my bed and laid down. I let out a long breath then thought to myself, "How did this happen?" I didn't know. Well, at least I got a day off of school. School! If I was in Ellie's body, wouldn't that mean she was in mine?! Uh oh! Hopefully there wasn't anything important to learn today! I thought and thought. Wait! Today was a field trip! Aw man! I was missing a field trip! It at least was Briarwood, so I already knew part of what I should. Well at least I have a day to see how s dog lives, I might as well use it. I hopped off my bed and went to the back door, pushed it open, and went outside. It was amazing! I could smell everything! The grass, the tree, a squirrel! It was sitting right across the yard, just sitting there. How hard could it be to catch It? I slowly walked towards it. Then it turned its head, looked right at me and ran. I chased after it as fast as I could, but it was faster. It scurried up the tree and out of my reach. Disappointed I walked back to the door and was let in by Mommy. I then went back to my room, jumped up onto my bed and laid down. It was hard work being a dog, maybe I'd just take one little nap....

I woke up to noise. We were home from school! I jumped of the bed and ran to the kitchen and jumped up onto myself. Again it happened. My stomach tied into a knot and my head spun. I was me! I dashed to my room and without thinking picked up my gerbil Muffin. "Uh oh." I said Again it happened, my stomach became a knot and my head spun. I had become Muffin. "I" closed the cage and walked out of the room. I was trapped. I looked around. Fifi was in her wheel. Hey! I had a wheel too! I had always wanted to runs in a wheel like hamsters and gerbils do! I ran over to my purple wheel and spun. It was fun! "Hey Fifi! Want to race?" I squeaked. "Okay." She replied. "Ready, set, go!" I said. We started spinning and running. It really did feel like we were racing! Now I understand why they do it all the time! After a while I started to get tired. I dug a little burrow, curled up, and went to sleep.

I heard the door open. It was "me!" "I picked me up and for the fourth time today my stomach tied itself into a knot and my head started to spin, and when it all stopped, I was me again. It was also night. I put on my PJ's, crawled into my bed, and for the third time today went to sleep. The weird day was finally over and I was myself again.
