War with the Five Gods of Death. - Kingdom of Rubble and River of Blood (Prologue)

The story of the Gods are old as time itself. But they weren't always Gods to begin with. As the stories they speak of them said that they were nothing more than lost souls who roamed the earth for thousands of years. They were rejected by the Heavens and refused Hell, believing they didn't belong there. As the souls walked endlessly around the planet, they have done nothing but watch the human race grow throughout the years. There was some good things they saw about how the humans adapted and evolved, however there were many negatives they also saw. They soon started to believe that the human race is nothing but chaos and corrupted. They wanted to change the world in there image. But they also thought that the only way for peace to exist was to control people with fear and punishment. They wanted to control them like gods.

The only problem was that they couldn't make any physical contacts with anything. They first needed power. The five of them concluded that the best way to begin their plans was to kill the devil himself. It was such a risk to do this, but they thought in order to become a god, one must kill a god.

Despite the odds against them, they succeeded with their first step, killing the devil. With the old god out of the way, the five of them took the spot. Now they had the power, and also the soldiers of the underworld to use. Within the next month, they prepared to march towards the human world.

The first attack was one a small village, consisting of nearly one thousand people. The attack was quick and brutal. No one was given mercy. Children, infants, the elderly, everyone was killed then was thrown into the village's river. Once people had discovered the slaughtered village, it was then on called the River of Blood. They had no idea who had done the attack and assumed it was done by another kingdom. With that assumption it nearly started a war. The only reason that it hadn't was because the five gods showed up at the kingdom's border admitting it was them with their army,

It was a bizarre sight to see. Demons and the undead, trying to talk with the ruler of the kingdom. They said that they had attacked the village was to show what they could do and would do so again if they did not surrendered.

The king refused.

The gods then told him to retreat back and prepare because they would attack at night.

Taking the warning, the king readied his troops and evacuated the citizens to an allied kingdom. It was difficult to do all of this within only a few hours but still managed.

When night fall came, soldiers were stationed at their posts, waiting for the attack. But it didn't happened. Hours had passed and the soldiers were confused.

The attack didn't happen until sun rise. With the soldiers being tired from no rest from staying up the whole night waiting for them they were surprised.

At first, the battle was mutual, none taking the upper hand for an hour. But then the five gods brought in twenty catapults. Five for each side. The humans didn't expect the attack to come on all sides. Giant boulders raining from the sky, killing many soldiers and caused building to crumble down. The gods were winning. Within the next hour, the soldiers were killed one be one, but the king was left alive. Well not for long anyways.

The king was hanged upside-down with multiple slashes across the body and decapitated.

The gods had left the kingdom in pieces, later being called the Kingdom of Rubble.

As news spread of these gods and their army, it lead to an immediate war. All the kingdoms across the land had decided to work together, despite some conflict with some of the kingdoms, and went to war with these so-called gods.

The war went on for years, loosing many lives in the process. It wasn't until in the fifth year of the war that humanity had finally gained the upper hand. I stranger from an unknown land. Nobody new anything about this person when she showed up to help win the war. A complete mystery to everyone from then and to this day. All that anyone knew was that she was a magnificent general and archer. With her angelic-like appearance and white shining armor, people had given her the title Heaven's Soldier.

The war didn't end soon though. It still took time until the final battle happened. Two years later, humanity had the God's of Death cornered at a mountain top that is now called The Boundary, meaning where the heavens touch hell.

The demons, beasts, and the undead were drove back to the underworld. But the Gods of Death met a different fate. To make sure that this situation never happens again, each God was imprisoned into another realm by the wisest magisters. Though their was only one flaw that the magic could be broken, it was extremely unlikely for it to happen.

The only way to make the doorway from this world to their world was ancient keys that was later scattered across the land.

After the war had finally came to an end, the human race began to rebuild what was destroyed during the long seven year war.

The first kingdom that was destroyed by the Gods of Death remains to be in ruins with the rubble and corpses untouched. This caused outraged with the people who had once lived there, saying that it should be rebuilt or at least have the bodies buried. However, due to resources being scarce and much work was needed for other things such as restoring farm land since during the war it was destroyed, making many people to starve to death.

The River of Blood however was cleaned out along with the village that was destroyed. Though the river was once was use for drinking is now avoided, due to obvious reasons. The villagers returned to their home and settled in.

As for the fate of the Heaven's Soldier, as soon as the war ended, she disappeared without a trace or warning. A complete mystery from the day she arrived to the day she leaved. Various rumors spread about her, some saying that she was an actual angel sent by the Heavens themselves while others say that she was just an ordinary person who wanted solitude from the world. Either way, she was looked up as a hero.

Seventy years later, the kingdoms is still rebuilding lost territory but not as much as before. The former kingdom that fell is still in ruins, some saying that is haunted by the souls of the people who had died there. During some time in the post-war, a civil war broke out in two kingdoms due to how they were ruled. One of them succeeded while the other didn't. But it was for the good how the result ended. The one that was taken over by the people was because the ruler was a tyrant who nearly went to war with various kingdom a year after the war. The other kingdom who stood in power was basically just some bandits talking anything bad about their king who got some people on their side. And now, in the city of Shariq, is the festival of peace. The day where people celebrate the ending of the war and the defeat of the five gods of death. Where there are two childhood friends that is about to begin their tragic adventure; full of loosing their loved ones, sacrifice, and many tough choices that will shape the outcome of humanity. And they don't even now it. But it will be a story to tell to others for generations to come, but would it be a happy ending or full of tragic.
