"AOI!"
A paper ball hit my head and I immediately turn away from the window and look at my teacher.
"Pay attention!" She said then went back to her lesson.
I sighed then went back to looking out the window. My name is Aoi and i'm the lead singer/lead guitarist of my rock band called Moonlight Ghoul. I'm pretty much known as the pink haired guy of the group because my hair is pink. The band consists of me, my childhood best friend, Rikki, and our two other friends that we've known from high school, Shou and Hiroshi. Our band is sadly in the small gig stage. We haven't been getting that many gigs because our second guitarist quit on us and our songs doesn't sound right with just me playing the guitar. I've been thinking about holding auditions to find a potential guitarist but I need to talk it over with my band first.
"Class is over. Make sure you study hard!"
This was my cue to get up and leave. I stood up then grabbed my guitar case. I pretty much carry my guitar everywhere I go. I can't seem to part from it. It's like my life like my band. I don't have any parents around so i'm currently living with Rikki in an apartment while we both go to band practices and gigs and I go to my college classes. I've been taking classes for awhile now and i'm not sure why i'm still taking them.
"Hey, Aoi. You doing anything right now?" One of my classmates asked.
"I've got band practice." I said, hoisting my case over my shoulder.
"I'll see you later." I said then walked out of the classroom.
I walked through town till I got to the place where my band practices. We sometimes get gigs at this place. I walked in and looked over at the stage to see my band mates setting up. I smiled then walked over to the stage and walked on it. I pulled my guitar out of the case and set it up.
"Sup guys." I greeted.
"How was class?" Shou asked.
I shrugged. "Class is class. Are you ready to ROCK?!" I grinned then we started to play.
"STOP!" I shouted and everybody stopped playing.
I sighed then looked around at my band mates.
"What's wrong?" Rikki asked.
"Can't you tell? We NEED a second guitarist. This is why we're not getting any gigs. I say that tomorrow, we host an audition."
"An audition?" Hiroshi asked.
"Yup. Our songs would sound less suckier if we had another member. Who agrees?"
I looked around at my band, waiting to see if they'll agree when they all nodded.
"Sure. Why not?" Shou said with a smile as he sat at the drums.
"Great! Let's pick up practicing tomorrow after auditions." I said then started to pack away my guitar.
"Hey, Aoi. You wanna go get something to eat tonight?" Rikki asked.
I smiled at my childhood friend and nodded. "Sure! You read my mind. I was beginning to get hungry."

Me and Rikki sat in a dim lit restaurant. We ordered some food and drinks to take shots with. I poured a drink into my tiny shot glass and down it.
"Ahh. That's good."
Rikki chuckled as he watched me.
"Don't drink too much. I don't want to have to carry your drunk ass back home."
I playfully glared at my black haired friend then shrugged and started to eat some of my food.
"So, why are you still taking college classes?" He asked.
I shrugged as I chewed my food a few times then swallowed. "I dunno...I guess...I dunno."
"Is it because of your parents?"
I shrugged again as I took another shot.
"Talk to me, Aoi."
I looked at Rikki then sighed. "I really don't know."
Sometimes I don't like discussing my parents. They were never really around when I was younger. My dream was to become the most famous musician in all of Japan. My parents dream, however, was for me to become a doctor or whatever. Once I told them my dream, they stop being around me and I was left to fend for myself at home. That's when Rikki's family took me in and treated me like their own son.
"Well, taking college classes isn't going to bring them back." Rikki said.
I nodded. "I know but I feel like I should try you know?"
Rikki nodded then smiled. "All in all, you still have me and the band. We'll never abandon you."
I stared at Rikki then smiled. "Aweee~ Rikki!" I cooed.
Rikki started to chuckle lightly.
"This is why I love you~" I said then shoved some fish into my mouth.
"And I love you too." He said then took a shot.
