Jeon Jihye.
Beads of perspiration travel from your forehead down to your neckline as you flipped the pages of the papers from your clipboard. Your table was a mess and so you are.
You let out a small grunt and you slouched back to your chair. Your gaze travels on the papers that were scattered on your table.
You were so nervous because the papers for your proposal to CEO Park from the other company was missing. You literally didn't sleep the whole night for that paper and the next morning, you fell into a panic as its already missing.
"Where is it?" You asked yourself as you sighed in frustration. Suddenly the telephone rang and you immediately answered it.
"Yes? This is CEO Jeon, speaking," you started.
"Ms. Jeon, this is CEO Park. I'm sorry I can't go to the meeting today. Let's just reschedule it for next week."
"Okay, thank you for telling me, CEO Park." You said and you ended the call.
You slouched back to your chair and closed your eyes, feeling tired.
Jungkook is even better than you! He's younger but he can take your place as the CEO! For god sake, Jihye! How would I permanently give this position to you if you don't even know how to make the other companies agree to your proposal!
You remembered the last argument you had with your father. It was last week.
He's always comparing you to your brother, Jungkook. Although you're a little bit jealous of how your Dad compares you to him, on how he would boast him to his other friends, you can't bring yourself to be mad at your brother.
You and Jungkook have always been in a good term of relationship. He's sweet and caring to you and he always sides with you when you're having an argument with your dad.
He never fails to make you smile and take the tiredness from you when you're coming home from work. Feeling something vibrated, you fished your phone out of your pocket.
You received a message from your Dad.
'Go home at 4 PM, I have someone to introduce to you. Make yourself look presentable and nice.'
You looked at the time displaying on your phone. 3:19 PM.
You let out a sigh and you lazily got up from your seat. You started cleaning up your table and compiling your papers together. After that, you retouched your make up and fixed your hair a bit.
Smiling at satisfaction, you grabbed your handbag and headed outside the building. You opened your car and drove off.
After which seems like twenty minutes of driving, you parked your car outside your house. You saw an unfamiliar car parked on the other side of your house, opposite yours. You assumed that this is your guest's car.
Shrugging your thoughts off, you walked to your house. The sound of your heels clicking on the ground could be heard as you come nearer to the main door.
Just as you were about to reach for the doorknob, it opened by an unfamiliar man.
His figure is slim and lean, hugged by a perfectly-cut white tux, with a bow tie on it. Judging by its looks, you can see that his suit is nothing but expensive.
His hair was neatly combed to the side. It was perfectly showing with his handsome face.
By looking at his features, you assume he's around your age. "Who are you?" You asked him. He looked at you for a moment, then walked pass you, completely ignoring your question.
Rude. You mentally scoffed.
"Noona?" You were startled by your brother suddenly appearing beside the door. "Come inside, dad has been waiting for you. We have important guests." He said and he pulled you by your wrist.
As soon as you stepped into your living room, your gaze landed on the man sitting on the couch, opposite your Dad.
"M-mr. Park?" You asked bluntly, shocked by the current situation. He smiled at you as he stood up, grabbing your hand for a quick handshake.
"Come here, honey." Your dad called you and you sat beside him with Jungkook.
"I didn't go to the meeting because your dad invited me here, Jihye," Mr. Park said. It was the first time you heard him addressing you by your name. Usually, he would call you CEO Jeon or Ms. Jeon.
"Since you're already here, it's better if we start discussing your marriage with my son." Mr. Park said and you squint your eyes on the ground, trying to figure out what he meant.
You sighed as you remember what your dad told you the other day. He told you something about the arranged marriage thing but you didn't expect he would do it seriously. You thought he was just joking.
"Where's your son, Mr. Park?" Your dad asked. Just if in a cue, the door opened.
"Oh, here he is." Mr. Park said and the man from earlier sat beside him. "Jihye, this is my son, Jimin." He introduced.
"Jimin, this is Jihye, my daughter" your dad introduced you, patting your back. You stared at the man in front of you. He smiled at you sweetly with his charmingly full lips.
You smiled back at him, your eyes locked to his, as you offered your hand for a handshake.
The way he looked at you, it felt so weird. You can't believe he's the same person that you met at the door just awhile ago, the same person who acted so rude to you.
He took your hand and your eyes slightly widened on what he did next. He planted a soft kiss on top of your hand, his eyes never leaving yours. He smiled at you once again, almost seductively. You cringed a little. You withdraw your hand almost immediately and looked away, clearing your throat with a forced cough.
"Looks like they would get along well," your dad broke into a chuckle and Mr. Park joined him. "Okay, let's get to the topic now," your dad started as he placed a white folder on the coffee table. Mr. Park opened it and handed it to Jimin.
"This marriage aims to strengthen both of our companies and secure our position as the top two IT companies here in Korea." your dad said as he placed his hand on your shoulder. "I want to secure my daughter's future. I want to see her get married to the right man." Your dad continues.
You bit your chapped lip, your gaze remains on the floor. Your brother slightly leaned onto you, whispering, "Noona, are you okay?"
You don't know what to feel anymore. You know you're already in the right age to get married but you didn't expect it to be in this way. You've always wanted to be married to the man you love.
"You know me for such a long time, my friend. Trust me, my son won't do anything to hurt your beloved daughter, right, Jimin?"
You looked at Jimin and his face was almost expressionless. When he noticed you looking at him, he smiled to your father, saying, "Yes. I would do anything to make her happy."
Raising your eyebrows slightly, you let out a scoff. "Okay then, its settled. Jihye, your dad and I already set a date for your wedding. It's one week from now." Mr. Park said. You looked at him in horror, and you stammered, "D-don't you think its too early?"
Your dad laughed and Mr. Park chuckled slightly. "No, it's not, Jihye." your dad said. You looked at Jimin, expecting him to react at least but you failed. He wasn't wearing any emotions at all.
"Excuse me, I have a call," Jimin said as he stood up and walked out of your living room. "Dad, I'll just go get a drink." You excused yourself to them and walked to your kitchen with Jungkook. "Noona, are you okay? I know you don't like this whole thing. Just do this for our company. Let me know if he hurt you, I'll always be here to protect you." Jungkook grabbed your hands and caressed it softly.
"Why are you being so cheesy today, Jungkookie?" You ruffled his soft brown hair and giggled. "I'm just worried about you, Noona." he pouted.
"Of course, Noona won't let that happen to herself."
You grabbed a water bottle on your pantry and pat your brother's shoulder before walking away.
You went to your pool area to have some fresh air.
You abruptly stopped walking when you heard someone's voice. You looked around and saw Jimin on the corner, talking on the phone.
It almost startled you because you didn't expect him to be here. You were about to walk away when you heard what he was saying.
"I don't love that girl. I want to marry someone I love but how can I do that? I've never been in love before. Actually, this whole marriage thing isn't okay for me but what can I do? Dad won't give me the company if I back away from this marriage. He said he wants to see me getting married and have grandchildren! For fuck sake, is he this desperate?"
Once again, you turn around to look at Jimin. You could see how frustrated he was. You leaned on the wall beside you as you crossed your arms.
"What a two-faced jerk" you muttered.
You walked away and went back to your living room. You heard footsteps behind you and you knew it was Jimin.
"Did you enjoy your time together in there?" Your dad asked and you looked at him weirdly. Suddenly Jimin appeared by your side and said, "Yes, we did, Mr. Jeon."
You instantly shoot him a glare.
"I think its time for us to go now. We have an appointment at 5:30." Mr. Park stood up and your dad too. He leads them to the door and you followed them. "Thank you for having us today, my friend." Mr. Park said and he gave your father a bro hug.
You looked at Jimin and he was looking at you. Suddenly, he stepped closer to you and kissed your cheek.
Your eyes widened at his sudden action and your body instantly backed away a little. A hue of pink spreads to your cheeks. "I'll see you soon, Jihye." He smiled at you.
You just gawked at him. He finally made his goodbye to your father and soon, you saw their car driving off.
"What was that?" Jungkook asked. You shrugged your shoulders and mouthed, "I don't know."
Your dad smiled at you. "Thank you for being a kind and obedient daughter today, honey." He said and he hugged you before walking back to your house.1236Please respect copyright.PENANACwKiWo1DPU
