Jeon Jihye.
You almost drifted to sleep because of the tiredness that was occurring in your body. The sun shines brightly, passing through the big glass window of your office. You couldn't deny you were regretting that you should have slept early last night.
You slouched back to your chair, barely even moving from your place. You threw your pen along with the documents - you've been reviewing for almost an hour now - to your big black office table.
"I really need coffee now," you said, clearing your throat before closing your eyes tightly and stretched your arms.
"I have one here, do you want some, baby?"
While your eyes were closed, you heard a familiar voice. It was very familiar that it sounded like Yoongi. You smiled at the thought that maybe you were mishearing it, thinking it is ridiculous if Yoongi would visit you now because he's always busy with his own company.
You played along with the imagination occurring in your mind. "I want some coffee, Yoongi. Please give me that," you replied as if you're talking to him in your imagination. Your eyes still closed tightly as you completely rest your back on your chair.
"Sure." You heard again his voice but this time it is louder and clearer and that made you startled. You opened your eyes in immediate. Your eyes widened in shock, you couldn't believe that Yoongi - your best friend - was in front of you.
He was leaning over your table and staring at you.
"Yoongi?" you sat up straight and quickly arranged the mess in your table. After that, you turned to look at him and asked, "Why are you here?"
Instead of answering your question, he asked you, "Is it wrong to visit?" You shook your head at him and he chuckled. "Won't you at least offer your best friend a seat?"
That's when the smile reappeared on your face again. You stood up and walked over to your couch. You sat down and patted the seat beside you, "Sit down here."
He walked over to you and sat down on the couch beside you. "Here," he gave you a cup of coffee. You didn't hesitate anymore as you were very sleepy and you really need a coffee so you took the coffee from his hold.
You drank a mouthful of it and asked him. "You really bought this just for me?" He looked at you weirdly and shook his head. "No. That was mine but I didn't like the taste so I decided to just give it to you. I don't want to throw it, it's quite expensive," he simply said.
You drank again before you spoke, "What brings you here? It's unusual for you to visit me in the office."
"It's nothing important. I just want to see you."
Your gaze fixed on him, an amused look plastering on your face. "You missed me?" Your voice stood out higher than usual because of excitement. He didn't answer and just stared at you like he didn't hear anything at all.
"Let's take a picture, Yoongi--" He cuts you off, "Oppa."
"Fine. Let's take a picture, Yoongi oppa," you said sweetly and he nodded. You took out your phone from your pocket and scooted closer to him. "One...two...three...smile!"
You took a few photos of you and him together. Once you were done, you looked at him. You almost laughed when you saw how annoyed he looked like. He didn't say anything and remained silent.
You made the photo your wallpaper on your phone.
An abrupt silence enveloped the two of you. You could hear your heart beating rapidly and you knew why. Yoongi haven't been silent like this before. You tried to drag the mood with ease and attempted to talk but he just cut you off sharply.
"Do you have something to tell me, Jihye?"
With those words from him, you realized what was wrong. You gulped harshly as you sit properly.
You haven't told him about the fixed marriage thing yet and there are only three days left before the wedding. Yoongi probably heard it from your employees.
"Yeah, right," you exhaled deeply. Yoongi looked at you in silence, patiently waiting for whatever you're going to say. Your hands were sweating but it was cold in your office. You gathered your strength to speak up and said, "Yoongi, I'm getting married."
"Wi...with who? when is...the wedding?" he stammered. "It's the son of our business partner. Do you remember Mr. Park? the one that I told you last week? He has a son and his name is Park Jimin. I couldn't resist my father, it was his command."
Yoongi smiled at you, "It's okay, Jihye. I'm still here as your best friend." You unconsciously smiled at his words. Those words made your heart warm and take away the coldness you were feeling from the aircon in your office.
You hugged him tightly. "You're not mad?" you asked whisperingly.
"Why would I?" he asked back. You released him from your hug and shrugged your shoulders. "I don't know...maybe because I kept a secret and didn't tell you about this immediately...?"
"It's okay. When is the wedding?" he asked. "Three days from now. I hope you'll come to my wedding."
He nodded at you and cracked a small smile, "Of course, I'll be there for you." Just then before you could say anything, you heard the door creaking open. You both looked at the door.
Then there he was, Park Jimin, entering your door without even knocking. You literally scoffed when you locked gazes with him.
Doesn't he know what good manner is? you thought to yourself. He tore his gaze away from you like he doesn't care what you think of him at all. Your smile disappeared just like Yoongi. Jimin slowly walked towards you, his right hand stuck in his pocket and the one holding a cup of coffee.
You tried to act nice to him so at least you won't look like a rude girl. "What brings you here?" you asked in the nicest tone you could ever do but instead of answering your question, he ignored you and stood in front of Yoongi.
You sighed frustratedly. Clearly, he was ruining your mood. Yoongi stood up and so you are.
"Hi, I'm Park Jimin, Jihye's fiance." Jimin offered his hand to Yoongi for a quick handshake. Yoongi looked at Jimin's hand for a moment before he shifts his gaze into Jimin's eyes.
You weren't aware of what was going on with the two of them and you were so confused.
"I'm Yoongi." Yoongi's voice came out low and clear and it was loud enough for you to hear too. Though Yoongi introduced himself, he didn't shake Jimin's hand.
Jimin didn't avert his gaze away from Yoongi and nor did Yoongi. Jimin lowered his hand and stuck it back into his pocket, clearly aware from the rejection he just had. Yoongi turned to you and said, "I'll be going now, Jihye."
He scooted closer and gave you a peck on the cheek which you gladly received. He then left your office.
