#1 I got the idea for the entire World of Grim from of four-line poem that my son brought to me to help him with.
#2 There are two poems, one I have not yet posted, that helped to birth this wonderful experience I have had. When my family asked for a third one to answer some more questions they had about the author of the poem, I jokingly suggested I write a book instead. Might have been a life-changing suggestion, don't you think?
#3 I love cultures and not one in particular. When you read about this fascinating world, you will find some interesting cultures mixed into it. Everything from the earlier Iroquois too the Mayans, and even modern religions. I love them all.
#4 Daman started out to be the subject of both the poems and the antagonist. My daughter argued against this after falling in love with the character in the early manuscripts. I had to do a complete rewrite early on to accommodate her.
#5 Rascus is of noble blood. He is the bastard son of the Duke of Valor. Yes, you got it, that makes Damon a contender not only for his Immortals fathers throne but also the throne of the Federation.
I will have more interesting facts later about some of the other members of my little world. I enjoy when I get a break in my busy life to write about them and continue their lives. Tad Williams one of my favorite authors had a quote at the beginning of his books that is true of any author, "Any man that says he knows the end of all things is either a very wise man or a fool; either way he is a very sad man for he has plunged a dagger into the very heart of wonder."
I might think I would know where I want it to go, but like you, I am along for the ride too.
