To say she made good choices was an overstatement. Scratch that, it would be a downright lie. 

She thought it would be a good idea for her to experience the fun of public school. She thought that her parents and twin brother would tell her if she was about to do something stupid. 

But here she was, in public school, having the best time of her life, obviously. It was also fairly obvious she was being sarcastic. 

She loved the idea of going to school and learning human education. What she didn't love was the fact that she had to wake up early and had to listen to young people teach what she thought everyone already knew. Apparently she underestimated humans and their education. She thought they had already learned division in kindergarten. 

She also thought that the Kenesis people would be more discrete about their abilities. But apparently the younger ones were less educated that people would freak out if they witnessed their abilities. So she ended up acing her classes with ease, and a bit of pity of how this was how far back humans were, and supervising a certain Kenesis girl and her friend. 

It wasn't as if the Kenesis girl was ignorant to her abilities, she was well aware, it was that she didn't mind flaunting them. Mostly to her friend, but also when she thought she was alone outside the school boundaries. Thought was the key word. She noticed the Kenesis girl was loud, in her voice as well as her mind. She wasn't certain if that was a good or bad thing. But what she did know was that it certainly attracted attention. 

She had no choice but to befriend the girl and her other friend. At first she was uncertain with herself, the Kenesis girl was completely different from the company of her usually strict brother. But after a few weeks, she learned that the girl was an actually decent girl. Fiona was her name, and her friend's name was Joanna. 

After four months of keeping her identity to herself, she finally told Fiona and Joanna of herself an her identity. Of course they didn't believe her, but after hours of explanation and examples they held an uncertain trust with her. She told Fiona of her abilities and warned her of the dangers of exposing them too much. 

After a few weeks, she learned Joanna enjoyed shooting with a bow and arrow. The respect for the girl increased for her and the three of them often trained together.  

Her brother however was less trusting and insisted on her to come home and to ditch the human system of school. Of course she refused, and she continued to train with Fiona and Joanna. Eventually he begrudgingly accepted his sister's friendship with the girls. 

Soon enough, she met another Kenesis person with another companion. But this time they were males. The Kenesis boy was one of the rare one with multiple abilities, his name was Erick. His friend was Chase, who was shockingly interested in firearms. Thankfully Erick was careful with his abilities and didn't wave them around, rather he used them to entertain his friend. 

"They're mortals, why do you waste your time with them?" Her brother asked tiredly, she sighed. 

"You don't get it, Jeremy, they're nice and I can't just let them out there. They're young and they're the only ones in the area. Plus, we need more people on our side if we have any chance at defeating-"

"Enough. Fine. Give the Chase boy this, firearms are too loud if you're going to invite them here." Jeremy handed his sister a laser weapon, basically a laser gun from his father's people. She only nodded and headed off to bed. She had school in the morning.

In the next day of school, she was reminded, for what must be the hundredth time, of evolution. She already knew about this, one of her great grandmothers ensured it. She was interested in humans but she wasn't interested in their education. Especially high school. 

She invited her friends for training at her home. Although the transportation made Erick and Joanna vomit, it got them there. Chase was especially glad to be given a new weapon. What a weird boy. She told them about her, um, problem with a certain somebody who wished to take over the world. They agreed to help, but she didn't think they understood the madness of it all. 

So after they left, later that night she wrote in her journal. 

High school is still boring. There's no point if I don't learn anything. But Joanna, Fiona, Chase, and Erick are there so that's the only reason I don't fake my death to get out. Although they agreed to help with Him, I can't help but feel bad. I shouldn't of dragged them into this. But I already have and they are going to be a great help with His followers. 

Jeremy says that mom and dad are still in Australia battling Him and his army. It's funny how humans cover up magic and supernatural appearances with stories and false news articles. Being a soldier isn't easy when all you do is have your achievements dusted under the rug.

Alright. First chapter that this is the third time I rewrote it. I'm going to rewrite a few more chapters until I'm satisfied. This chapter is short but it used to be 300 words.
