A girl is walking down a hallway in a school, sun streaming through the windows. Her brown hair bounces against her back as she walks and hugs her books for her classes close to her chest. People scoff as she walks by. Her voice can be heard over the clatter of a school hallway, though her lips don't move. "Hi. My name is Elizabeth. Someone sticks their leg out and Elizabeth trips over it, her books flying as her hands reach out to catch herself. The whole hall erupts into laughter as she fumbles to gather her books. "I'm not a Plastic, or a goth, or...or some stupid beach bottle blonde. I'm just Elizabeth."
The girl arrives at her locker and opens it, putting in 2 books, and taking 2 more out. She walks further down the hallway, and our focus moves in on a boy with shoulder-length blonde hair and soda-bottle green eyes. "That's Jake, the hottest guy in school, and the captain of the football team. Not to mention, the boyfriend of Melissa, the meanest Plastic in school. How do I even explain how hot Jake is? Not even Benedict Cumberbatch and Bruce Springstein combined could compare to Jake."
Our focus turns back to Elizabeth, staring wistfully at Jake. "But I'm...just. Elizabeth. And this is my story."
Suddenly, Elizabeth is bumped into by a boy with dark brown skin and he grins at her. "Oh, sorry, Liz. Staring at Mr. Dreamboat again?" he asks.
Elizabeth actually speaks this time as she snaps at the boy. "Get lost, Raz. You know that's not what it's like."
The voice-over starts again. "That's Raz. He's cute, in the boy-next-door kind of way. Any girl would be lucky to have him, and many girls have tried, but no one has succeeded in winning his heart."
Elizabeth shakes her head and the bell rings in the hallway, signalling that she needs to leave for her next class. She walks in, and everybody ignores her, save Raz, who smiles at her.
"My story involves romance, and love, and things that would make my parents flip if they found out about. But not with Jake. No...I'm just Elizabeth after all. This is the story...of how I fall in love with my best friend."
Elizabeth smiles before everything fades to black.
