It's been an exhausting day for me. First of all, I could barely sleep last night. Then, once I managed to finally fall asleep, at two in the morning, I was awakened by contractions. After that, I was rushed to the nursery/birthing room and after five hours of pain, I gave birth to a beautiful little bundle of joy. A baby girl with beautiful blue eyes. They glitter like sapphire under the morning sun. But one issue, she was born a month late. And this is the first time in the history of the angel world that an angel is born a month late. But the angel doctors don't know that and I'm not going to tell them because I want to keep her. She's so beautiful.
"What would you like to name her, Rosine?" the nurse asks, breaking me out of my thoughts.
"I'll name her Charmeine. It's a beautiful name. After my mother."
"Yes, it is a beautiful name," she says with a smile as she grabs a birth certificate paper. She dips a pen in the magical ink and writes the name and birth information on the paper. "Do you know what it means?"
"Yes. It belongs to the angel of harmony. It means 'singer'."
"Yes. She's very beautiful. Her eyes are enchanting."
"Yes, they are. Very enchanting."
She smiles warmly at me and hands the paper and pen to me so I can sign it.
"And I'll just write unknown on the father's signature line."
"Oh, I do know him," I reply. "He's dead. He died in the recent battle, remember?"
"Oh, yes, of course, I remember. He was a gallant and courageous man."319Please respect copyright.PENANAR3JmG23THa
"Charming, too. If only he could see his beautiful daughter." I smile down at the little bundle in my arms. "And that beautiful, golden, curly hair on her head. Beautiful. She'll be a wonder. And amazement."319Please respect copyright.PENANAFNaJHnUCdc
"Why, yes, of course she will. It runs in your family." She smiles warmly.319Please respect copyright.PENANAHeMG6r5h5K
I smile back, thinking of how I'm going to raise her without her father.......319Please respect copyright.PENANAp2wISFTcP0
