Darkest corner of my mind

That's where the demons hide

The demons that poke and prod

Scream and yell

Cackle and sob

I keep them locked up

Trying to ignore there jeers

And yet every once in a while

They escape bringing my fears

The demons I kept locked away

In the darkest corner of my mind

Where they reside

Are free

Waves of sadness crash over me

I'm quiet

Thinking

Trying to push them away

Push away my thoughts

Back into the darkest corner of my mind

Where my demons like to hide

I try not to listen to what they say

I try not to believe them

I put up the highest walls I can create

And yet there's a crack in my fortress

Little things seep through

Slip through the stone

Slowly cracks start to appear

All along the wall

It tumbles down

They are free

I push as hard as I can

Locking them away

The darkest corner of my mind

That's where the demons stay
