We went home after getting a tattoo. When we were relaxing in Beni's living room, I took a picture of my tattooed wrist and sent it to our group chat. The group chat has me, Kayla, and Miguel on it.
"Does it still hurt?" Beni asked while I was replying to Kayla and Miguel's reactions to my tattoo.
I replied, "A little, but I can handle it." I nearly cried earlier because it was so painful. My good friend Beni says that getting a tattoo on the wrist hurts more, but of course, he said that after I already had one. What a great friend I have.
"Don't forget his advice since this is your first tattoo." he added.
I responded while still messaging my cousin, "I know." Since we left the location, he has been lecturing me on what to do and what not to do with my new tattoo. He keeps repeating it. He nags a lot, which I was unaware of until today. I no longer pay attention to what he says and simply nod in agreement.
"Mia bebé, estas escuchando?" I heard him say and just responded with a Mm-hmm and a nod.
"No estas escuchando." he said.
"Uh-huh." I responded without paying attention. I was smiling because of what we were talking about in our chat group when my *ss of a friend suddenly put me in a headlock, like what I and Diego would do when we were fighting and annoying each other.
"You're not listening." He said. He made a mistake by disclosing a few of his secrets to me. He once said that the back of his neck is sensitive to touch. So I gently stroked his nape with the tips of my fingers. I was gently caressing his nape, and it must have worked because he let me go right away.
I stood up to move away from him. "Dude, don't use your wrestling moves on me. I can fight. I'm a fighter. When I was little, I used to watch wrestling, and John Cena's fights helped me pick up a few moves. You can't see me." I told him, even copying John Cena's signature hand wave. It made him laugh his ass off.
He laughed and said, "Do it again." So I did the you can't see me John Cena signature again, this time with attitude and swag. He even took a video of me doing that. I sat back down after and he held my hand to check my tattoo, again.
"Don't let it get wet." He said. I rolled my eyes at him in annoyance. It's annoying how he keeps repeating his words. I know that he's saying that so I won't get an infection or something, but it's annoying. He's been saying the same thing to me over and over.
"Dude, you nag a lot, don't you? Is it one of the signs of getting old?" I asked him to get back at him for annoying me, and he frowned.
"I'm not old. Tengo veintinueve años. (I'm 29 years old.)" He said.
"I know. You'll turn 30 next year. You old." I commented. I quickly stood up to flee from him out of fear that he might counterattack, but he was faster. I was caught, and he carried me back to the couch and started to tickle me. I was screaming and laughing at the same time. He only stopped when I begged him to and after he had made me apologize for calling him old.
He took me home before noon. I was pretty nervous when we arrived. It would be humiliating to get scolded in front of Beni. When my aunt opened the door for us, I saw her smiling while looking at us.
"Tita, hindi ka galit? (Aunt, you're not mad?)" I asked. It's weird because usually she would scold us or hit us with her slippers.
"Bat ako magagalit? (Why would I get mad?)" She asked.
"Dahil natulog ako sa bahay ni Beni nang hindi nagpapa-alam.(Because I slept over at Beni's house without telling you.)" I immediately regretted reminding her of what I had done. She's obviously in a good mood. Why do I have to remind her? Do I enjoy getting scolded that much?
"I should be mad, but Benito called me last night and told me that you were sleeping soundly, so he didn't want to wake you up. Tsaka ilang taon ka na pero wala ka paring boypren kaya okay lang. (Besides, you're already this old, but you still don't have a boyfriend, so it's fine.) Don't worry about your mom, I'll take care of her. " My aunt said.
"Benito iho, you should stay for dinner. I made a dessert made with coconut just for you." Beni was dragged to the kitchen by my aunt as she happily walked past me and grabbed his arm.
"Gracias, Tita. I'm sure it's delicious. " Beni commented as they walk to the kitchen.
"Kayla, why didn't you tell me that Beni called your Mom?" I asked my cousin.
She replied, laughing, "It was funny seeing you nervous. you should've seen your expression earlier." She immediately jumped back while laughing when I tried to tickle her.
"So, what did you do with him? Did you guys, you know? " She pried while looking at me weirdly.
"No. Whatever you are thinking about, we didn't do any of it. He did carry me to his guest room because I was sleeping on his sofa. When I woke up, it was already morning." I told her.
"Wow. It's a perfect opportunity to make a move on him. You should've shown him how sexy you are and seduced him. If you had done it, you would have gobbled each other up till dawn." she said.
"Gobble each other?" I asked while laughing. "Besides, isn't too early for me to like him? Or to even do something like that." I added.
"Girl, I know some people who fell in love within two weeks and married six months later." She arched an eyebrow at me as she said that.
I asked her sarcastically, "Why would I make a move on my friend?" Beni is attractive, but I don't feel that way about him. I'm not naïve. I would know if I like him romantically and as far as I know, I don't feel that way about him.
"'Cause, that's what friends do. A guy and a girl can't stay friends forever. One of them is bound to fall in love with the other, and if they are lucky, it might not just be a one-sided thing." She said. I disagree. I have male friends, and I can say with certainty that neither they nor I are attracted to one another.
"They can be friends as long as no one confesses or anything like that." I told her.
"So, you're saying that you like him but don't want to make a move because you're frightened that he might not like you and cost you your friendship with him?" She asked with a stupid smirk.
I sighed and rolled my eyes at her. Then I said, "No. You're twisting my words. You are way overthinking this. I like him, but not in that kind of way. You better not say that around him because it's embarrassing and it'll make things awkward."
"Fine. Just stay friends forever until he gets a girlfriend and stops hanging out with you." She said.
"It doesn't matter. I'll probably be back home before that happens." I retorted.
My aunt then called us to dinner shortly after. Beni left soon after that, naturally with a paper bag.
"Tita, Beni likes the dessert you made. He sent me a picture of him eating it at his house." I told my aunt and showed her the photo that Beni sent me. My aunt smiled when she saw it.
"I cooked it. Of course, it's delicious. Mia, you better make sure that you get him in the end." My aunt said.
"Tita, we're just friends." I told her.
"Bullshit! Girls and boys can't be friends. It's either they're a p*ssy to confess their feelings to each other or it's just one sided." Wow. She said the same thing as Kayla. I was shocked when she suddenly cursed.
"The way to a man's heart is trough his stomach. Why do you think I've been feeding him? Why would I waste my time and effort?" She added.
"So, you're bribing him with a lot of food to get him to like me?" I asked.
"Of course. I've also been telling him a lot of stories about you. " She said and I only hope all of them are good stories. When does she even tell him stories about me? I never heard her talk to him about something like that.
"I like that kid. You don't have to worry about your Mom. If I like him, your Mom will surely like him too." she said.
"Tita, we've only known each other for a few months. It's too early for that."
"Your aunt Helen met her husband online. Two days later, she became his girlfriend, and six months later, they got engaged. Now, they are happily married with three lovely kids. Fast is better. It's better if you two have a baby while you're still young. Don't dilly-dally, or someone will snatch him from you." she said.
"Baby? Tita, it's way too early for that." I said while laughing. I can't believe she's already thinking of us having a baby. We're not even in that kind of relationship.
"Bahala ka. (Up to you.) Don't come crying to me when he gets snatched by another woman." she said before she stood up and went to her room.
Do I look like I'm desperate to find a boyfriend? I haven't even considered if I want one or not. Why are they more anxious than I am? I'm still enjoying my single life. And a baby? I never even thought of having a baby with Beni. I didn't even realize my aunt always makes too much food when Beni visits because she has a secret agenda. She even gives him a lot of takeout food after. I've got to say, my aunt is a genius. She must've liked him too much for her to do that.
As much as I appreciate my aunt for helping me, I'm sorry to disappoint her, but that's Bad Bunny. Why would he like someone like me?
