"Oooh. This is cute." I said while looking at the shirt that was displayed. It has a skull design and flowers around it. "Beni!" I called out his name but I didn't hear him answer so I look back and I saw him checking out a Mexican food stall across the stall where I am at. I call him Beni instead of Benito because his name is the same as my last name. It's weird calling him by his first name.
He dialed Kayla's number when we got home the day I first met him. My cousin thought he called the wrong number because she doesn't recognize his voice. If he hadn't asked for my name, my cousin would've ended the call. I spoke to him after she handed me her phone.
He invited me to tour the city with him. Despite his frequent visits to L.A., he hasn't had a chance to get to know the city. I also want to travel around the city and check out some tourist spots, so I agreed.
We've been hanging out for weeks now, going to a lot of places, and getting to know a lot about each other. We don't hang out every day, but we occasionally text or call each other. I don't know what he does for a living, but he seems to have a lot of free time. He is pretty fun to be around. He's a vibe, for sure, and that's why I like hanging out with him.
This morning we went to a museum, and I got to see a real dinosaur skeleton. It was awesome, but my friend is not much of a fan, so we left the place and then went to this place that has a Spanish or Mexican vibe to it.
We shopped around and ate a lot, I mean, a lot. When it got dark, he drove me back to my aunt's home.
The next day, I let my cousin drop me off at his house cause he invited me to come over, so I did. It's only been a few weeks since I arrived in the States, and I'm already going to a guy's house whom I just met recently. When did I become wild? If my mom knew about me going to a guy's house alone, I would surely get a beating from her. My Mom isn't that strict towards me anymore, but she is still conservative so she will still get mad at me if she knows I'm hanging out at a guy's house who I met recently. It's a good thing she's not here.
I was in awe as soon as I saw how big and beautiful his house is. There's even a pool in the front. I feel a bit nervous because it's my first time visiting his house. I knock on the door, and it didn't take long for someone to open it.
"Bonitaaa!" he greeted as soon as he saw me.
The first thing I notice was his shirt. I love his shirt. His outfit and shoe choices are quite appealing to me. Also, he wears different colors and styles of sunglasses. I wonder where he buys his clothes and accessories? I am what you call one of the boys, even my sense of style is boyish.
I like to wear oversize shirts. I hate wearing tight-fitting clothes 'cause it's not very comfortable. My mom used to buy me girly clothes, but I don't wear them. I wear dresses when necessary, but it doesn't happen that often. Even now, I'm wearing an oversize black t-shirt, ripped jeans, and my sneakers. "Hola." I greeted him.
"Come in." He said after hugging me. I went inside his house and I was in awe because his house's interior looks quite posh.
I removed my shoes to not dirty the floor, and he gave me a spare indoor slipper. "Wow, your house is just... awesome."
"Gracias. You can sit in the living room and make yourself comfortable. Let me get you a drink." he said and I nodded.
"Okay. Thanks." I went to the living room and sat on his expensive-looking couch. I sat still, afraid that I might break something. He came back carrying two glasses of what I think is a coke and a bag of chips. I did mention that I like eating chips to him.
"It's coke." he said. Kinuha ko iyong isang baso and took a sip of the coke. I started scanning his living room with my eyes. Everything just looks expensive.
I think he also noticed how nervous I am. "Relax. I don't bite." he said.
"I'm scared that I might break something." I told him and he laughs.
"It's fine, break anything you like. I promise I won't ask you to pay." I laughed. He must've been pretty loaded to say that. Is he flexing his wealth? He is probably joking to lighten the mood.
It didn't take me very long to ease up. At some point, I don't know how, but he convinced me to apply nail polish to his toenails. I'm not sensitive about touching other people's feet and being the good friend that I am, I even cleaned his nails before painting them black as he had requested.
"It's ugly." he commented as soon as I finished polishing his nails.
I rolled my eyes at him, "Hey, I just cleaned your big ass feet and even helped you polish it. Complaining is not allowed."
"Terrible." he said it in Spanish while looking at his big ass feet.
"Fine, look for a professional then. Where is that nail polish remover?" I heard him chuckle as I started looking for the polish remover.
"I'm just joking. Help me polish my fingernails too." He said and he shows me his fingers. "Por favor."
I sighed and returned to my chair. I held his hand and started applying nail polish on his fingernails.
"Do you have anything else to do after eating lunch?" We planned to eat out after I finished polishing his nails. Sushi is one of his favorite foods, so we both agreed to eat at a Japanese restaurant. I haven't tried sushi yet, but he did say it's delicious.
"Nope." I answered, shaking my head. "I'll probably go home and watch some movies on Netflix. You?" Some people may think that I'm wasting my vacation by staying at home and not traveling around the States, but no, this is exactly the vacation that I had imagined.
"I need to attend an event. There's also an after party, do you want to come?" he asked.
"Nah. I don't party, and I might ruin your fun time." I told him. If it's a party, I'm assuming there will be drinking involved, which I'm not very good at.
"So you're one of the good girls?" He asked.
"Maybe, but I can still be bad if I want to." I said and gave him a wink, which made him laugh.
