After the fight yesterday I went to bed immediately, I was tired.
I took my breakfast in the dining hall, and Parson joined me.
“Now that I have recognized you, I have something to request of you.” They said,
I raised my eyebrows, “What is it?”
“As you know, there are other heroes out there. Currently we only know of a handful of them, I want us to go and find the others, and if you could get the other heros under your control that would be nice too.”
“Wait, what? Why can’t you just go find them?” I asked.
Parson looked down at their plate. “I am not strong enough. I originally became a wandering adventurer to find the heroes. I did find one, but I wasn’t strong enough to protect him from others. As the hero of magic you are one of the strongest of us all. Please find the heroes and defend them until they are trained enough to fight the angels.”
“Well, I’d love to help but even if I did discover the heroes and subjugate the corrupt ones, I still have a country to rule. I can’t exactly just go on quests all the time.” I replied.
“I understand. But if we do not gather the heroes then we are all doomed. The angels will come, the three of us are not enough to fight off the angels, and we are yet fully realized. If not you then please send someone out there to scout for them. With your elemental magic, I’m sure there is some way for us to find the heroes.”
“I can test the folks inside my country to see if any of them are heroes. I don’t know if there’s anything more I can do though.”
“I will be setting off on a journey again, I will search for another hero. Please test your citizens. If there is any way at all for you to search beyond your borders then please do.”
With that, our conversation came to an end. I kept my promise and within the month my nation (as large and complicated as it was) was able to test all of its citizens on if they were heroes or not. It just so happens as soon as Parson left to resume their journey that we found someone with the hero’s mark on a village not so far from the capital.
I rode a carriage peacefully to the village. I wanted to see the new hero for myself. Ballaith came with me to peer into the new hero’s soul.
I left Amber and the rest of the gang back home, I only took Lena and Traya. I spent most of the ride touching Lena’s beautiful hair while Traya shot me dirty looks.
After a while she cracked. “Silvi! Stop doing that!”
“Huh? Why?”
“It's weird and she's making that weird face!”
I stared at Lena’s face. It was an expression of slight contentment. Lena never really talked, but she was just so adorable!
I continued to stroke her hair.
We arrived at the village before Traya could kick up another fuss. Opening the door of the carriage I found myself greeted by the sight of a quaint agricultural village. Surrounded by farmland, it was so peaceful.
“Your Majesty! I’m so glad you are here. Welcome to our humble village, I am the headman.” A short, stocky middle aged man said.
“Nice to meet you,” I said with a smile, “I’m here about the new hero?”
“Ah yes, please follow me.”
Traya, Lena, and I followed the headman to a small hut. Opening the door he led me in. At the table sat a young woman and a boy who looked to be around 11. I checked his hand and status with my demon eye, he was a hero alright. “The hero of the spear…” I whispered.
Sitting down I smiled, “Hey, what’s your name?”
“I-I’m Julius!” The boy said absolutely adorably.
I smiled, melting under his cuteness. “I’m Silvi, I hear you're a hero?”
“T-that’s right!”
“Well, hero, I’m glad you're here, we need more heroes. I don’t want to sound forceful, but I want you to come to the capital with me, as the hero of the spear we can train you and eventually you can fulfill your destiny.”
“What is my destiny.”
I glanced around, most of the people here didn’t know about the angels. “I can’t tell you right now, but if you come with me I will.”
“What will happen to him if he goes with you?” The lady at the table said, she must be the mother.
I turned to her, “Nothing terrible I promise that he is a hero, and has a talent. I want to nurture that talent so he can protect us all.”
She looked relieved. “Thank you, your majesty, will you give my son this opportunity?”
“I will, I’m not going to lie to you, he might be exposed to dangerous things, you still have an option to refuse.” I wanted them to make their choice out of their own free will.
She looked at her son. “Please give Julius this chance. I don’t want him to waste his gift.”
I smiled, “Of course. Now Julius have you ever ridden in a carriage?”
Later young Julius was sleeping peacefully on the seat of our carriage, his mother next to him. I had invited her as a servant of the palace so she could be near her son.
A plan formulated in my mind. I had found one hero, I knew it was possible to find others. Now I just needed a good excuse to get away from the country for a bit and not cause a diplomatic disaster.
Meanwhile, Traya slept with her head on my shoulder. She looked so peaceful and pretty on my shoulder. A bubbly feeling rose up from my chest. Blushing, I closed my eyes to fall asleep as well.308Please respect copyright.PENANAJq3SQLrepc
