I rode on a monster named a Rose Horse. It looked like a normal horse but was red. This was due to overexposure to fire magic, and a rose horse itself was very dangerous (it could breathe fire). The Rose Horses were a gift from the red tribe of Scarlet Tribe, and all were familiars.304Please respect copyright.PENANAmb3fFBQtqo
Behind me was a retinue of tribe members. In front of me were the archpriests, the head priest, and the Chieftain of the tribe.304Please respect copyright.PENANA6DzCJ10QM1
I had seen them before we headed out, but didn’t get a chance to say a word.304Please respect copyright.PENANAZqb9jHcBjg
Traya was on her own rose horse and Amber rode upfront with the Chieftain. I was wearing robes that were common for priests of the Mahillia tribe.304Please respect copyright.PENANA5j3T7doOkO
Going over a hill I saw a large tent erected. We traveled a long way to reach the gathering site, which was close to the center of the continent. The tent was gigantic, and retinues of smaller tents surrounded the larger tent, each dyed a separate color.304Please respect copyright.PENANAcoLaUG1dKW
My eyes widened as I saw the different types of tribes and demons. There was blue hair, red hair, and even silver hair that glittered. The silver hair was immediately appealing to me and I was entranced by the members of the Aguentilal Tribe of Silver Demons.304Please respect copyright.PENANAHfDHQmZRWE
Traya leered at me as I ogled them. “Hmph,” she said. “What?” I protested.304Please respect copyright.PENANAJldcYQpoFe
“If you like silver hair so much why didn’t you tell me?” She protested.304Please respect copyright.PENANAX89cIwK0Lj
I looked at her. “Well, I mean. I didn’t think about it in particular, but now that I see it…”304Please respect copyright.PENANAm9d2RV00TW
She scowled. “Silver hair. Goddamn it. I should have thought of that sooner…” She muttered.304Please respect copyright.PENANAbNTiGe6xC2
We followed the chieftain into the large tent. We were greeted by a large circus type arrangement. There was a large table (round) in the center of the room and stands around the table. The stands seemed to be separated by tribe.304Please respect copyright.PENANABHHcyreZdQ
I followed the chieftain down to where the table was. There were smaller benches under the table’s platform that the retainers of the chiefs could sit at. Amber, Traya, and the head priest joined me on the bench.304Please respect copyright.PENANAhjzLun12Zt
The meeting commenced quickly. An older-looking golden haired (and I mean golden haired, it glittered!) man called the meeting into order. I whispered to the head priest, “Who is that?”304Please respect copyright.PENANAtEPPqlUfxd
“That, your majesty, is the liege lord of the Glenons tribe, or the golden tribe of demonkin.” He said. “The golden lord has managed to secure himself a seat as the head of the tribal council…. It is a long story, and has to do with tribal politics since the beginning of demonkin.”304Please respect copyright.PENANAFrP7WyNSSN
I nodded. Apparently, at the first tribal meeting, the leaders of every tribe had to arm wrestle to earn the right to lead the council. That tradition had been passed on to every council afterward.304Please respect copyright.PENANAd5T1di5ZLP
The council does another arm wrestle tournament every 3 years, and a new head of council is chosen from the winner. The head of council doesn’t do much other than lead the meetings, so in recent history the tribes have just let the Metal or Polar tribes duke it out. The winner among the four is called the chief councilor.304Please respect copyright.PENANAJUXCkF7CHT
“Dear Members of the esteemed race of Demonkin, I, Spleindor, the 9,356th chief councilor of the tribal council do call this meeting to order. Today’s agenda includes the arrival of one of the gods, The Yellow Lady, and the Mahillia tribe’s future!”304Please respect copyright.PENANAaSKQne0fFZ
Spliendor? That guy sure had a strange name. “Ugh…” I heard grunts of disapproval from the audience.304Please respect copyright.PENANACR7sonRy0s
Spliendor went without noticing. “Chieftain Akram. What do you have to say for yourself?”304Please respect copyright.PENANAwJoHgo65Yt
Akram rose, “Nothing, my god has returned. Our people rejoice!”304Please respect copyright.PENANA2AkehPIIBy
“But you have forgotten, young man.” An older silver haired man rose, “The summoning of our gods is forbidden!”304Please respect copyright.PENANA5u9agIyRsi
“I think you are the one mistaken, Chieftain Glara, we ourselves are not allowed to summon our gods, but the person who summoned Lady Amber was the Crown Princess of Tephit, who has had the grace to come to accompany me.” He waved his arms toward me.304Please respect copyright.PENANAkHVW5NGYNR
I rose and walked over to the table. Glara took one look at me and laughed, “Who are you! Is this a joke, you're just another Mahillian scumbag!”304Please respect copyright.PENANATOcnPrGZ8A
“Be careful what you call us, Glara. This lady is one of us now.”304Please respect copyright.PENANAxkAw8VGW25
“Exactly, one of you! You have broken the law!” he cried.304Please respect copyright.PENANAXgCPMtcMom
“No sir, he has not. I was not part of the Mahillian tribe when I summoned Amber.”304Please respect copyright.PENANA6PoOMMyHgq
“But!”304Please respect copyright.PENANAYs7paJGT4A
“Stop, we do not hold banished member’s former tribes accountable for their actions, so why would we hold a new member’s tribe accountable for their actions in which the tribe had no part?” a blue-haired lady said, she turned toward me with a look of respect.304Please respect copyright.PENANA1hOoSQ2wjo
Huh, I’d have to remember to thank her.304Please respect copyright.PENANAtuik7YOvYN
“Still! How can this Yellow girl be a princess? She is clearly lying!”304Please respect copyright.PENANADwGuRZ7II7
Traya started to rise but I stopped her with a hand. “Do you dare accuse me of lying?”304Please respect copyright.PENANAKzUA3xBIPU
Glara looked at me with contempt, “If I am not mistaken, Lord Glara holds a demon eye?”304Please respect copyright.PENANAJ3mX58YE6e
“Well I mean, yes…” His face deflated, “I don’t know what that has to do with anything. More importantly, how did you know?!?”304Please respect copyright.PENANA0CMGlCodGU
“I too hold a demon eye, and if you really do hold such an eye, then tell me what it says about me.”304Please respect copyright.PENANA8JUMaBqgQk
He narrowed his eyes, then widened them in shock. “If you truly doubt me, then ask Amber herself who summoned her, who she holds allegiance to!”304Please respect copyright.PENANAxCumjQaX0D
I challenged them. “Do you really doubt a word of one of your gods?”304Please respect copyright.PENANA5lh0x8saVS
Amber rose and smiled, “Hey guys!”304Please respect copyright.PENANAZX0PSxrh1f
People started murmuring. “The Yellow… It’s her…” the head counselor said.304Please respect copyright.PENANA3rzyxMAKAs
“That’s right, and my name’s Amber! I am the lord of the Mahillians! Scourge of the plains! The Yellow Death! Ranked Sixth in the Demon’s hierarchy! And this here is my master! The hero of magic, Princess Silvi Tephit!”304Please respect copyright.PENANAXLNqsUq59F
The demons looked in shock. A man with forest green hair stood up, “Does that cover everything?”304Please respect copyright.PENANAAC91vWPo9l
“No.” An answer came from a young black-haired man. He stood up to show his eyes, which were pitch back.”The fact remains that the Mahilians have their lord, we do not. I ask the council to permit us to summon our lord, as the Mahillians did.”304Please respect copyright.PENANAFcMpSd26xu
“We did not!” Akram objected.304Please respect copyright.PENANAQAoLSqAMu2
“New member, any member, that difference matters not to me, if that were true, then we could find any human mage out there and ask them to conduct the ceremony, then incorporate them into our tribe. The fact of the matter is, persuading or making another person without tribal affiliation summon one of our lords is prohibited under the same law!”304Please respect copyright.PENANAyhF2HEqTrd
“We did not encourage the summoning of Lady Amber,” Akram said calmly.304Please respect copyright.PENANAMd2jYfDByU
“Can you prove it? What I see is a newly made demonkin that had some luck with summoning. What if she’s not legitimate, what if she summoned the Yellow only so she could become demonkin and join a tribe? How do we know her true intentions? Besides that, she is a hero, anyone with that power cannot be trusted. You are a fool to harbor the hero of healing, but the hero of magic as well? We should not trust your words on the basis of that alone, do the Mahillians think that having their lord, as well as two heroes actually make them superior to us? You should learn your place!”304Please respect copyright.PENANAx783a72Gjx
Akram scowled, “Trust is something gained over time, have the Mahlilians not showed up to these tribal meetings the past 9,000 years, or fought for the sake of demokin for 9,000 years, or contributed to demonkin for 9,000 years? Was that all for nothing?”
The Purple haired chieftain, a middle aged lady nodded her head, “I concur, the Mahillians have done us no harm, we should trust them or at least be a little more accepting at the very least.”
“Oh? Teni? Have you joined the Primary camp? And I thought we were friends!”
“I have done no such thing, political alliances that have nothing to do but to fight one another are useless. I am saying to respect the demonkin and our ancestors, the demons we should show a little more respect to our kin!”
“Hmph,” Glara said. “Fine then, I have a proposal.”
He pointed at me, “You there, prove to me that you are indeed a summoner, give me proof in the name of my god! Then maybe I shall trust your word.”
“You want me to summon your god? Like the Silver Aboriginal?” I said, incredulous.
“Yes, and if you do, and they swear loyalty to you, then I shall know who you are and what you are.”
“Amber's word is not enough?” I asked.
“Ha! I shall only trust the word of strong demons!
Amber looked furious, she was about to go on a rampage when I touched her shoulder, “Hey, calm down, that man is way too confident for his own good, so I guess I’ll just have to play his game.”
I had studied my book on summoning a bit more since I first used it. I had learned why I had summoned a demon and how to manipulate such a summoning circle. I decided that I would summon that idiot man’s demon, and on top of that, the four strongest. I wasn’t certain that I’d be able to subjugate them, but at the very least the summoned demons had to obey me as I was the one who summoned them. Of course, they might kill me, but maybe with my divine blessing and hero status, I could make them submit. Either way, I couldn’t back down now.
I drew a large circle on the table, the chalk I used was dark black and stood out against the pale tan of the tabletop.
“Oh, great beasts of hell! I am your master! Silvi Tephit! I call upon you to this world! Obey me!”
I cast the summoning spell.
Four shapes emerged from the glowing magical circle. They were separated into two different groups. A young man with shiny golden hair appeared on the left, his eyes were gold as well, and he looked very smug. A black-haired youth appeared on the right, handsome and dry. Behind the golden boy was the most beautiful lady I had ever seen. She had silver hair and was BY GOLLY AMAZING. I ogled her body for a few minutes before turning to see the last emerger. She was just as beautiful as the silver-haired lady. She had a feel of elegance and coldness.
The four demons fell to their knees. “Dearest Master, we are the aboriginals of Gold and Silver,” said the gold and silver demons.
“And we are the aboriginals of the Black and White.” Said the black and white demons.
Together they said, “We are in your service.”
The counselors all gawked, some had fainted.
Oh boy, maybe summoning the four most powerful magical beings in the world was not such a good idea!
“What are your names?” I asked as calmly as I could.
“We have none, so we ask you to grant us some. Only then shall we truly be your subordinates.”
“And you're fine with that?” I asked them.
The gold demon smiled, “Of course, there is no greater honor than serving the most powerful in the world, if anything we are grateful.”
“Most powerful?” I asked.
“Oh yes, every demon has been awaiting your arrival. We are sad that Yellow beat us to it by serving you first.” the black demon said.
“Hmph!” Amber said, “It's Amber now! And yes I beat you, too bad you never trained your physical stamina and speed as much as strength!”
“We do, you just got lucky!” the white-haired demon said with elegance.
“Calm down everyone,” I said. “I didn’t really plan on this, but I guess you guys are sticking around. So, names…”
I clapped my hands together, “Let’s see here, you!” I said pointing to the golden demon.
“Yes my lord?”
“You will now be called Auren!”
He bowed.
“You will be Halien!” I said to the black demon.
“You can be Lena!” I said to the white demon.
“And you, uh let’s go with Claudia!” I told the silver demon.
They each bowed.
Oh boy, named demons now.
“I am Auren! The golden demon!” He announced.
The black demon scowled, “And I am Halien! The black demon!”
The surrounding demonkin bowed in revelry.
“My lord, I have finally found you…” The black-haired chieftain sobbed.
Halien turned toward him, “My descendant, you are strong, but not very smart. This woman is my master, treat her appropriately.”
“Of course!” He turned to me, “I am truly sorry for my earlier insolence, on the behalf of the Stygian tribe I ask for your forgiveness and thank you! We will do anything you ask! We are now your humble servants!”
Humble servants? Wait, this wasn’t going the way I thought it was….
“In that case so do we!” Glara said.
“As do I!”
“And us as well”
The white chieftain and the gold chieftain chimed in.
Wait! Calm down, you guys! Wait up! Stop! Please! No more pledges of loyalty! Stop it!
I was about to open my mouth when “You are a true summoner! Can you summon our gods as well?” A blue-haired chieftain said.
“Why yes! What a fantastic Idea! This lady here is more than capable of controlling them, and we can meet our gods! Our idols! For that, I would walk off the ends of the earth!”
“Please, summon our gods and we shall follow you!” The blue chieftain said.
“Yes please!” The rest of the chieftains said.
GAAAAAAAH!
I turned to Traya for help, she just looked flustered and came over and patted me on the back. “At least you united the tribes…” she said.
I held my hands in my hands and screamed to the sky, “WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO ME!”
