Jay is the one who got us in here, I am more than sure he can get us out. "I-It's okay!" I try to assure him, "You can find the way back to camp right?" He nods steadily trying not to make himself look anxious. We continue walking in what feels like a circle.
Nothing but trees, grass, and bushes. How on earth did people find their way back during the stone ages when technology did not exist?
Suddenly there is a rustle behind us, out of fear I take ahold of his sleeve. "What was that?" My lips tremble. Jay looks back with an unsure look. It sounds like it is getting closer and closer, the wind blows stronger making my skin crawl with goosebumps. "Do you think it could be a bear?" My voice gets softer. He nails his feet to the ground and shiver in fear, I never thought someone like Jay would be more afraid than I am. Or then again it could be camp counselors looking for us! "W-w.." He tries to spew out something.
My eyes squint trying to make out what he is trying to say. "Wh..a?"
His color comes back to him and shouts. "Wolf!" My spine looks down and I turn my flashlight towards where he is looking at. There it is, charging right at us in full speed. The both of us take off into any direction, I try to stay close but the dark, rush, and fear all mixed together makes my mind do complex things. How come there is a wolf in this forest if it is right by the camp? It is bigger than any wolf I have seen in the zoo. I believe if it could stand on it's hind legs like a dog, it could overreach Jay and I.
My blood is rushing the longer I run, all of a sudden I feel a bit light headed from all the running. "Jay!" I scream! He looks back with anger, "Keep up you!"
I turn back to see if the wolf is still following us, nothing. This a sigh in relief, yet I am worked up. He finally stops running when he realized I have done the same.
"Don't..." Jay mutters toward me between his teeth. "Move."
My chest tingles with pain as the thought of the wolf being behind me, hunting and licking its lips like I am the prey. All that can be heard is the soft patting of the wolf's paws against the crunchy leaves.
"I am scared." I mouth to him. He nods and tries to study and figure out something. I feel the hot breathe of the wolf on the back of my ankle.
Please don't bite... please.
My flight or fight responses kick in and I...

[A] Fight the wolf myself, two is bigger than one.
[B] Flight! The only way out of this is to run like hell!
A.N.~ Sorry that it is short. Just wanted to do something new for a change! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it.
