Good Intentions
Chapter 1: New Beginnings
“Hurry up Naruto!” Kagome called, tying her Hitae-ate around her left arm. The symbol of her village was plated on a small black cloth.
“I’m eating Kagome!”
“Skip it! We need to get there on time!”
Naruto whined and gulped down some more milk, slamming the carton down on the table to go meet Kagome. He groaned when he saw that she’d already left. “Kagome-chi you don’t have to be so impatient!” He muttered, but decided to go back to his breakfast. It was her fault she’d be hungry all day!
Kagome hummed as she looked at the door of the classroom. It seemed like yesterday she’d come to this place, confused and angry on the first day of classes, because some little pipsqueak whom shall remain nameless, NARUTO, had put paint on her seat and ruined her favorite outfit!
Sometimes her best friend could be so cruel!
She giggled slightly, ‘And now… we’re graduating.’ Walking into the classroom it wouldn’t be a familiar lecture waiting for her, but a speech designed to pump her adrenaline and… a group number.
A Genin group number.
‘I’m finally a ninja again.’
“Oi! Kagome you shouldn’t be standing there like that!” Someone said as they approached her from behind.
Ino.
Kagome turned to smile at the tall blond girl. “I’m sorry! It’s just that this is the last time I’ll see it.”
“Who WANTS to see it again.” Sakura interrupted, giving her the ‘you’re crazy girl’ look.
“I don’t know. It’s just sentimental that’s all.” She huffed in return, turning away from the other girls to walk into the classroom.
“K-Kagome.”
“Hinata!” Her mood was instantly back in the betters as she let out a happy cry and grinned at her friend.
Hinata blushed and looked away for a few seconds before shyly glancing back up. “W-Would you like t-to sit w-with m-me?”
“Definitely!”
She plopped down just as Sakura and Ino entered the room, shoving each other and struggling through the door, they both looked up and yelled, “SASUKE-KUN!”
It looked as if they’d spent the time she’d taken to sit next to Hinata arguing out in the hallway. She let out a sigh, ‘They’re smart girls too. What a waste. They could’ve been great ninja if it wasn’t for their fangirlish tendencies.’
Her eyes shifted to the boy that made them that way, Sasuke Uchiha. By now they’d made their way to him and shoved Naruto –who for some reason had sat next to the brooding boy- out of the seat. Then they proceeded to argue over who would sit next to him… while he did nothing but sit there. Ignoring them.
Kagome felt a strike of pity for the female population. He was intelligent, popular, strong, and –though she hated to admit it- actually pretty cute, but it was that attitude that ensured that she would never go for him.
With all those good attributes most girls were head over heels… but his personality. Ugh. He always seemed to think he was superior to everyone! Arrogance pissed her off.
She shoved away the thoughts invading her mind, not wanting to ruin her mood thinking of the Uchiha heir. ‘Focus Kagome. This is a good day… I’m graduating! I’m finally going to get to be on missions again!’
Once upon a time Kagome Nagata had been a shinobi of Sunkakure. Or the Village Hidden in Dimensions. In her village she was well known as a sort of ‘princess’ figure because her brother and her father had both been Mitsukage -though the title was ignored by the 5 Nations. When she’d moved to Konoha the village had decided that she might have gotten her position as a Jonin because she’d been grandfathered in. For that reason –and more importantly they didn’t trust her- she’d been sent back to academy.
And now she’d finally get her position back.
Kagome winced, rubbing her ear and trying to ignore the shrieking. Today was a good day. Today was a good day. Today was a good d-
Her inner mantra was interrupted when Naruto hopped up onto the desk in front of Sasuke and made a half moan half growl sound. Sasuke turned to look at him.
Blue clashed with Onyx.
Kagome’s lips twitched, ‘The passion in their eyes… now if only they would kiss…’
As if the force of her mind had fated them closer a boy sitting in front of Sasuke leaned back, knocking into Naruto and forcing him forward. “Sorry did I bump you-“
In slow motion Naruto’s head moved, fangirls shrieked in terror, Sasuke Uchiha’s eyes widened...
And their lips met.
It was silent for a pause before chaos erupted.
“YOU JUST STOLE SASUKE-KUN’S FIRST KISS YOU BAKA!”
“GAKI!”
“TEME THAT KISS WAS MINE!”
“UGH YOU STUPID ORPHAN!”
Kagome’s eye twitched and she heard the comments and she stood up quickly, her chair knocking into the desk behind her in a similar fashion to what had just started the domino effect. Hinata looked at her pleadingly as if to say either ‘Sit back down’ or ‘Save Naruto for me’ and Kagome stalked over to where girls were screeching and Naruto and Sasuke where spitting insults.
“Hey…” She started off.
No one was listening.
Her eyes flashed and Hinata hid her face behind her hands.
“Hey.”
“NARUTO I’LL KILL YOU!”
“MY PRECIOUS SASUKE-KUN!”
“JACKASS!”
“PIG!”
“TEME!”
“GAKI!”
“WOULD YOU SHUT UP!” Kagome balled up a fist and stepped forward two paces. She was about to launch her fist into Ino’s face when she was grabbed under the armpits and hauled off, screaming like the banshee she’d just been about to kick ass on and swinging her fists back and forth.
She was dragged into the hallway before finally being released. She quickly spun around to find out who had stopped her rampage, slapping him in the process.
Surprise lit her features as she caught sight of a familiar spiky black ponytail before she saw the face in front of her and stared at him in confusion, “Shikamaru?”
He muttered something that sounded like ‘how troublesome’ as he held his cheek before sending her a slightly harsh look. “Chill out already Kagome-chan.”
Kagome blushed and glared right back, “Why did you do that?!”
“Come on you know how those girls are. Don’t stoop to their level.” He straightened from his bent over and rose to his full stature, raising a brow at her cockily. “I just saved your innocence.”
She huffed, blowing her disheveled bangs out of her face. “What innocence?”
“The innocence that I saved obviously.” He sent her an annoyed look. “You’re so troublesome. You’re not even a ninja yet and you’re already getting into Naruto’s mess.”
Her face heated slightly, “Am not! They were the ones picking on Naruto.”
“They always pick on Naruto.”
“And I always stick up for him.”
“Exactly.” He crossed his arms and took a step forward. “We’re getting assigned teams now Kagome-chan. You’re probably not going to be there to help him fight his battles all the time. He needs to be able to function with those people. So save yourself the grief of getting him killed.”
Kagome stared into his eyes for a few more seconds disbelievingly; did he really think… that she’d get Naruto killed? But she just wanted to help Naruto! That wasn’t a fair judgment! …But then again he was really smart…
She coughed lightly. “The air around here is so serious suddenly.” She let out a nervous laugh. “It’s unlike you Shikamaru!”
His face lightened and he gave a small chuckle, “I guess I am a bit edgy, this whole thing is such a drag.”
“Shikamaru! Kagome! What are you two doing standing in the hall like this?” A voice called and both turned to see Iruka-sensei walking closer to them.
“Sorry Sensei! I was just asking Kagome-chan a few things about being a genin in Sunkakure.” Shikamaru replied smoothly, as if he’d already had the excuse planned. He probably did.
Iruka’s face lit up and he gave a light chuckle, “I’ve never asked you about that Kagome, I’m surprised I haven’t thought of it! I guess once you go on your first few missions I’ll have to ask you how similar the two are!”
Kagome blushed, “I’m sorry Iruka-sensei! I don’t know if I’m allowed to give that information out…”
“Oh. That’s alright.” Though his face became temporarily disappointed, the cheerfulness was back right away. “Come on now guys hurry inside, I’m about to blow your minds.” He waved a paper he held with a goofy look.
Without further ado, they were swept into the classroom and Kagome noticed that though she looked apologetic, Hinata hadn’t been able to save her seat.
Looking around there was only one seat left.
…The seat next to Sasuke Uchiha.
A tick mark appeared on the side of her head, it appeared the way the conflict of screaming girls was resolved was that no one could sit next to Sasuke. That left her with the tedious task. ‘Stupid fangirls. Why can’t they grow up and be normal already.’ She could use more female friends.
With anger clear on her face, she walked to the empty seat, all eyes glaring at her and whispering, and dragged the chair back with a SSSSQQQQQQQQUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK.
She plopped down, ignoring the fact that for the first time Sasuke had looked up and was watching her indifferently, and scooted in. Despite herself she finally looked up and met eyes with one Sasuke Uchiha and raised an eyebrow. “What?”
He didn’t speak but displeasure was clear in his indifferent eyes.
She could only just make out the rage. ‘You’re never going to be able to hide from me, Sasuke Uchiha. I’m the only one who will always see who you really are.’
As if hearing her inner thoughts, his hand tightened around his other hand –he had his elbows resting on the desk and his chin right next to his hands- and his eyes narrowed.
Instead of speaking, he turned to look out the window again.
Iruka stood at the front giving a farewell lecture, not paying attention to them at all. “-As of today you are all ninja. To get here you’ve faced difficult trials and hardships; but that’s nothing. What comes next will be far more difficult. Now you are only Genin, first level ninjas. All the Genin will be grouped into three man squads, each squad will be led by a Jonin, an elite ninja.
There were several gasps throughout the room.
Kagome’s eyes were huge as she stared at Iruka, ‘Three man…? But it was four back home…’
Whispering picked up behind her.
“Well someone’s gotta be in Sasuke’s group. I wonder who.” Ino’s voice said smugly.
“I don’t know.” Sakura replied back stiffly, ‘DUH, I’m gonna be with Sasuke so stay away from him you hag.’
Sasuke’s eyes narrowed and he looked like he’d just eaten a really sour lemon, ‘Groups of three… that’ll only slow me down.’ His eyes flickered to the side. ‘Whatever. As long as Kagome isn’t with me it’ll be fine.’ He didn’t need that kind of baggage always hanging around him.
Naruto frowned slightly, thinking it over. ‘I wanna be with Kagome… a-and I’d really like Sakura to be on our squad too but if she isn’t… well I don’t care! As long as it’s not Sasuke!’ It was a well-known fact between him and Kagome that he had a large crush on Sakura.
“We need to have a balance of strengths and abilities. So that’s how we set them up. I will now announce the squads.”
He talked for a full ten minutes before Kagome’s interest perked enough to listen.
“….Naruto Uzumaki.”
Kagome frowned, concentrating. ‘What team was that… Squad 7?’
“Sakura Haruno.”
Naruto cheered and Sakura frowned, ‘I’m doomed.’
“Sasuke Uchiha.”
The previous roles were reversed and it was Naruto’s turn to think, ‘I’m doomed.’
“And Kagome Nagata.”
‘Damn it all to hell. The one person…’ Sasuke’s hand tightened on his other hand again and he refrained from crying out like Naruto would.
Kagome snickered by his side. “Hey Sasuke… can’t wait to be in the same group.” She looked over at him and saw the anger again and couldn’t help but wonder, ‘What started this?’ Once upon a time, she probably would have loved Sasuke’s attitude, even now he still reminded her of her oldest brother… so what had started their feud? It had been so long that she’d forgotten why she hated him in the first place. ‘Never mind how it happened… all that matters now is that it did.’ But if it was something small enough to forget… was it even worth hating each other for? ‘We’ll have to forget it anyway, because we’re part of a genin squad, and squads need to work together to function properly.’
“Next squad 8, Hinata Hyuga. Kiba Inuzuka. Shino Aburami”
Kagome brightened, ‘Hinata’s with Kiba and Shino! …Those two should be able to help her get a little more out of her shell.’
“Now squad 10, Ino Yamanoka, Shikamaru Nara, and Choji Akimichi. Those are all the squads.”
“Iruka-sensei why does a great ninja like me, have to be in the same group with a slug like Sasuke?” Naruto suddenly complained, sending the person he was speaking of a hating glare.
From the seat behind him Sakura was seething.
“Hmm. Sasuke had the best scores of all the male graduating students… Naruto you had the WORST scores. To create a balanced group we put the best with the worst.”
“Just make sure you don’t get in my way. Loser.” Sasuke muttered, his eyes closed.
“Hey, what did you say?!”
“Hard of hearing?”
It killed Kagome to let this go on… she had to intervene! She just had too….
“Kagome-chan calm down.” Shikamaru whispered from the seat behind her.
“Knock it off Naruto. Sit down!” Sakura growled and grabbed for the back of his shirt.
“EHEM. After lunch you’ll meet your new Jonin teachers. Until then class dismissed.”
Kagome walked around aimlessly. She’d jumped through the window the minute Iruka-sensei had dismissed them. ‘I should have waited for Naruto.’ But she couldn’t, she didn’t like the way the group was headed. In the classroom it had been Naruto against Sasuke and both her and Sakura had chosen a side. If it continued like it was it would be her and Naruto vs Sasuke and Sakura. They wouldn’t be a team at all!
‘I have to put aside my hatred for Sasuke. Sakura has to put aside her hate of Naruto AND her feelings for Sasuke. Naruto has to stop hating Sasuke. Sasuke has to stop… hating everyone.’ All in all, the situation wasn’t looking good.
No way would Sakura be able to forget her feelings for Sasuke. It was a fan girl thing.
She sighed, “Why couldn’t my team have Hinata and Shikamaru on it instead of Sasuke and Sakura?”
‘UGH! What a pain! I get in the same group as Kagome AND Sakura and he’s gotta be on it too.’ Naruto sighed heavily, sitting on top of a building. “There’s got to be a way to deal with this… huh?”
He noticed Sasuke through the window of a building close to where he was, unaware of his presence and eating a rice ball peacefully.
He jumped down silently onto the siding of the place next to the window and crept along.
Sasuke was still eating, unawares.
With a smirk, he jumped in and attacked Sasuke, closing the window behind them accidently.
Sasuke struggled underneath him.
“Naruto!”
“Pipe down!”
Sakura was sitting on a bench alone in the park. She didn’t have any lunch and she knew that she should eat…
But she was on a diet.
And if Sasuke wasn’t there to eat with her it didn’t matter.
But he’d never want her… her forehead…
‘Why was a born with such a big wide forhead?’ Sakura looked up from her inner miseries and noticed Sasuke leaning against a tree not far from her… looking right at her. ‘That look in his eyes…’
Sakura’s inner ramblings
The scene was blue and romantic jazz music played in the background. But the two lovers were oblivious to it. They had eyes only for each other.
Sasuke was looking particularly bored today, but that was also extremely sexy so Sakura could ignore it, “Sakura… your forehead is so wide and charming.” He replied in an uncharacteristically caring tone. “It makes me… feel like kissing it.”
Sakura swooned, her cheeks so hot you could cook an egg on them. “Well there’s lots of room up there.”
This has been Sakura’s inner ramblings. Please enjoy the rest of the program…
She sighed and her shoulders slumped, ‘Grow up Sakura. That’s just a fairytale. And fairytales don’t come true.’
“Sakura. Your forehead is so wide and charming.” Sasuke replied sultrily, taking steps toward her.
Sakura gasped and looked at him in shock. ‘He said… OH MY GOSH YES HE SAID THAT!’
Sasuke stopped in front of her. “It makes me… feel like kissing it.”
‘KA-CHING! She scores! This fairytale is for real!’ Inner Sakura screamed; Sakura herself was shocked still, staring at Sasuke with wide eyes and a blush.
Sasuke smirked slyly, “Just kidding. That’s the kind of dumb thing Naruto would say.”
She immediately deflated and wondered why she would fall for that. ‘I’m a smart girl aren’t I? Of course Sasuke was just joking…’
“I wanna ask you something.” Sasuke sat beside her, leaning on his arms. “Naruto. What do you think of him?”
She was quiet for a moment as she contemplated the right words.
“He knows about my feelings and he purposely tries to get in the way.” She looked down and her pink hair covered some of her eyes. “He enjoys interfering and making me feel bad. Naruto… he doesn’t understand one single thing about me. He’s just annoying.”
Sasuke stared at her with wide eyes.
“All I really want… is for you to accept me Sasuke. That’s all.”
“You just want me… to accept you?” Sasuke replied back numbly.
Sakura blushed, looking up at him uncertainly. “Yes that’s how I feel. I’d do anything for that.” She leaned toward him, closing her eyes and Sasuke found himself wondering… should he let this happen?
Sasuke struggled with his bindings. ‘Grrrr. I let my guard down.’ He remembered how he’d had Naruto tied but, but it had turned out to be a replacement jutsu and then he’d been attacked by MORE Narutos.
‘In class he couldn’t even do a simple replication. How could he combine a replacement jutsu with a full shadow clone jutsu?’
It was so frustrating.
The air pulsed with the pounding of his heart as ‘Sasuke’ stared at Sakura’s beautiful lips.
“It’s true. I’m desperate.”
A blush covered his cheeks. ‘I finally know why… why I like Sakura so much. I finally understand.’
He leaned forward. Now they were only inches, no centimeters apart.
Suddenly, his tum made a disturbing noise. He grabbed his stomach, ‘My stomach! What timing!’
He took off running toward the bathroom.
“Hey what’s the matter?!” Sakura yelled after him, a blush still on her face.
“I’ll be right back!”
Sakura’s eyes widened and melted. “I didn’t know Sasuke was so shy. Maybe he needs a little time to get ready.”
Meanwhile Sasuke was sitting on the pot staring at the stall door, a moment later, in a flash of smoke it wasn’t Sasuke. It was Naruto.
‘Why did it have to… right when she was about to… Agggg! And she thinks that I’m annoying? She said that three times. I transform into Sasuke, get close to Sakura and she has to say THAT?’ He thought for a moment. “Hey I know what I should do! I’ll make Sasuke act totally obnoxious. Believe it! Then she’ll hate him even more than me!”
Sakura waited anxiously for Sasuke to come back and was finally relieved to see him walking up the path. She gasped. “Sasuke! You’re back! Don’t be so shy you bad boy! Are you ready now, you know mentally prepared because I am. I’m rearing to go!” She blinked when he walked right past her. “Hey wait a minute!”
He stopped walking to turn and look at her, he frowned, “Where’s Naruto?”
She made a face. “Oh see there you go changing the subject again.”
Sasuke’s frown deepened, ‘I didn’t talk to her… Naruto…’
“Anyway, Naruto just picks fights with you.” A thought occurred to her, “You know why he’s so annoying? Because he wasn’t raised right. He doesn’t have a mother or a father; no one to teach him right from wrong.” She looked up as Sasuke started looking around for Naruto again. “Think about it. He just does whatever comes into his head.”
Sasuke stiffened and glanced at her.
“If I did thinks like Naruto… I mean forget it! My parents would get mad and I’d get into trouble so of course I don’t do it-“
Sasuke’s glance became a full on glare and he narrowed his eyes.
“But if you don’t have parents to tell you, how would you know? He’s selfish and bratty. He’s all alone!”
Sasuke continued to glare at her from the side of his eye. “Alone. Isolated. It’s not about your parents scolding you. You have no idea what it means to be alone.” His tone became progressively frostier as he gave the speech until finally his words were like icicles smashing into Sakura.
She took a step back, confused. What had she said wrong? “W-Why are you saying that?”
He turned back and gave her the full effect of his glare. “Because… you’re annoying.”
He walked off and left her staring at his back.
Kagome hummed, her eyes closed as she walked along the rough forest path.
‘I kinda want to find out what she thinks of Sasuke…’ A smirk lit up a pale face from the shadows. ‘But I better make it quick. Who knows when I’ll have to go back to the bathroom…’
He jumped silently on the ground and sprinted until he was just past a curve in the path and leaned against a tree.
It wasn’t long until his victim was on the path right in front of him, ignoring him. “Hey Kagome.”
She paused in her step, eyes flickering open to look at him. Surprise was clear in her eyes. “…Sasuke.”
‘Sasuke’ lifted himself into a standing position and stalked toward her. “I need your advice.”
Her eyes widened further and she began staring. “Um… sure. What is it?” ‘You don’t hate him. You don’t hate him. You don’t hate him. Be helpful. Be helpful and the first step to being a successful team will be accomplished.’
He stopped right in front of her and stared down, for once noticing how small she was. Three or four inches shorter, then again Sasuke was two inches taller than him. “There’s this girl.”
‘That’s never good… but who managed to catch his attention?’ Despite herself she was curious.
“She’s really smart and cute and nice… but she doesn’t like me. How do I get her to like me? From a girl’s perspective…”
Kagome thought about it. There weren’t any girls that didn’t like Sasuke Uchiha… they all fan girled… Unless!
!?!?!
Her eyes went wide and she gasped, ‘He likes~! He~!’ “Take charge!” She replied immediately, her eyes shining. “If you like her, talk to her more! But be subtle about it, otherwise it’ll be super obvious that you like her… unless you’re going for that! And when you’re friends say something like ‘Would you like to go get ramen with me’! Yeah!” Her eyes became starry and ‘Sasuke’ watched her in surprise.
‘She must really like Sasuke… who would have guessed that Kagome… is just like all the rest.’
‘Sasuke’ smirked at her, “I’ll do that.” He walked away leaving her to her own devices while he sought out Sakura, after all she was still waiting for him with a kiss. Pain entered his stomach again and he groaned. ‘Sakura will have to wait!’ He made sure she couldn’t see him anymore and took off running.
Kagome was still squealing when he was all the way out of sight. ‘Oh my gosh! This is perfect!’ She jumped in the air and started pumping her fist. “Yatta! Yatta! Yatta!”
Naruto sighed in relief, finally getting out of the bathroom, he started running only to see Sasuke walking up to him. They both stopped.
Naruto clenched his fists and got into an attack stance. “Sasuke what are you doing here?! How did you get loose?!”
Sasuke looked at him superiorly, appearing smug. “I used the escape jutsu. No sweat, it’s a very basic technique.”
“Ahhhh.” Naruto sweat dropped.
Sasuke took on a more serious expression and looked at Naruto indifferently. “Why’d you do that? Transform into me?” Now he looked angry.
Naruto closed his eyes, “I thought it would be fun to try out my moves on you so I did.”
Without further ado he created five shadow clones.
“Ahhh the same technique again?” Sasuke looked at the clones irritated.
“Now you’ll see what I can really do.”
“You’re going down for the count.”
“Then you’ll have to admit that I’m the best!”
All at the same time… their stomachs growled.
“IT’S BACK AGAIN!”
“IT’S BACK AGAIN!”
“MY STOMACH!”
“IT’S AN EMERGENCY!”
They all started fighting over who would get in the bathroom first as Sasuke silently observed.
He turned and started walking away. It really wasn’t worth it to fight Naruto. “What a loser.”
o-o-o-o-o-o-o
Sakura sat on the bench sadly, ‘Is this how… Naruto feels? I guess so. I guess… I’ll try to be nice to him from now on.’
As if on cue Naruto appeared groaning. She stood up. “Naruto.” She tried to smile. “Naruto do you want to each lunch together?”
He stared at her in disbelief. ‘No way would Sakura smile at me like that… Sasuke must have turned into her to get revenge!’ “I’m not going to fall for that- Oh no!” He ran back toward the bathroom.
Sakura growled at his retreating back. “Naaarrrrrruuuttttooooo.”
Oh how she hated him.
Kagome hummed as she looked for Sasuke’s aura. She hadn’t used the technique much in the last few years so it had gotten harder to concentrate with it… she’d have to start again soon.
“There he is!”
She ran forward, the blue of her short kimono flying up every once in a while. She’d changed it over her time in academy. Now it was a series of light blues with black patterns and a rather strange set of black lines making up her family crest on the back.
Of course her shorts were still black.
“Sasuke!” She called as she caught sight of him on a bench.
He looked up and found himself surprised that she, Kagome Nagata, was talking to him. ‘This is rare.’ “Yes?”
She smiled at him and he blinked, ‘What’s going on?’
“I was wondering if we could talk some more about that girl you asked for advice with earlier.” She sat down next to him and looked up at him from beneath her eyelashes.
Sasuke frowned slightly. ‘Naruto… he talked to Kagome as ME about a girl… that she thinks that I like?’ “What were you wondering?” He was curious about what Naruto had told her.
“You said that she doesn’t like you. She’s smart and she’s nice… so…”
Sasuke froze and his heart leapt to his mouth. ‘Naruto… That idiot! How did he know?!’
“How long have you liked Hinata-chi?”
The anxiousness immediately swept away with the words and he turned to stare at her with large eyes. ‘He gave her all that...’ Maybe that question had been some kind of sick joke on her part. Kagome knew how he felt about her! He’d told her years ago. ‘Doesn’t she remember?’ It’s what had torn them apart. The reason they hated each other… but if she didn’t remember… Why did she hate him?
For once he didn’t know what he should say to her.
Kagome’s eyes warmed a little, “It’s okay to like Hinata-chi. She’s really great.” She moved closer to him and bumped his shoulder with her own.
“…Do you want to eat lunch together?” Sasuke asked; he knew it was a long shot, but if she didn’t remember what had happened between them…
“Sure, that sounds fun.”
Then maybe it wasn’t too late after all.
Unbeknownst to all of the future genin, The Third Hokage and a mysterious silver haired man where inside Naruto and Kagome’s house.
“So this is where Naruto Uzumaki lives…” he paused, and examined the unorganized room, "...with Kagome Nagata."
“Yes, they’ll be on your team along with Sakura Haruno and Sasuke of the Uchiha clan… good luck. You’ll need it.”
Kakashi picked up a milk carton from the table. “This milk is way past its expiration date.” He shook the jug and it made a sickening sploshing sound… almost like it wasn’t even liquid anymore. . “One sip of this and they’d be running to the bathroom all day. Seems like these two kids are just full of problems.
