in the vast night sky

the moon gazed longingly at the sun opposite him,

he knew he had no chance,

but her radiance was so warm, so bright

their love was destined to be an eternal hope,

as the moon would rise each evening

he hoped each night that he would be closer to her glowing presence

but as dawn approached their distance remained

sucking the hope out of the moons heart,

although, the moon had a little hope left

and reflecting the suns love in beauty

he would whisper to her through the starlit night

hoping the she would hear and their love would ignite,

though their touch was restrained, their love glowed

always staring at eachother through the galaxy

forever separated but forever in love,

a beautiful romance for eternity,

so as the dawn rises and the dusk falls

the moon and sun forever chase

bound apart by the night sky

but will always be an eclipse of love
