Ryunosuke and I were the first to get to Shibuya on Halloween night. I made myself a zombie costume and did my makeup by following an online tutorial. Ryunosuke had a high-quality wizard costume on. It looked cleanly sown and well-made.
I noticed Ryunosuke had green contacts on. I marveled at his eyes which resembled gemstones.
He furrowed his brows. “Do I have something on my face?”
I shook my head. “N-no, your costume is so cool!”
Ryunosuke chuckled. “Thanks.” He looked me up and down. “Where’s your costume?”
I rolled my eyes. “Very funny.”
He looked behind me and pushed up his glasses, a smile forming on his face. I turned around and saw Nikolas and Akio. I eagerly waved at them and approached Akio.
"Let's go walk around! There are so many cool costumes here." I pulled Akio’s arm and pointed at the bustling crowd.
Halloween in Shibuya is always bustling with people cosplaying as their favorite characters or monsters. Some of the costumes looked so real that sometimes I think they could be actual monsters.
I eagerly started taking pictures with random people and Ryunosuke acted as my photographer. Nikolas and Akio walked together to look elsewhere at different cosplayers.
“Alright, one, two, three!” Ryunosuke counted down. I was posing with a group of anime cosplayers.
I went up to Ryunosuke to check the photos he took. I nodded in approval and started to look for the next person or group I wanted to take pictures with.
Within the crowd, I saw someone towering over everyone. I gasped in awe. I started heading towards him, fighting through the tons of people in the Shibuya crossing. As I inched closer, I noticed he had a skull for a head on top of a muscular build. His wide back was covered entirely with fur. When he moved his head to the side I could see all of his sharp teeth.
I reached my hand out and called out to the man. “Hey! Can we take a photo together?”
Its head jolted in my direction. The dark abyssal sockets of its skull stared back at me and slowly turned its whole body to face my front. The man had muscular legs built like tree trunks. The veins in its arms and legs were pulsating, his entire body appeared as if it were sculpted from stone. I was amazed by the effort he put in his costume design and his physique. I was jumping with eagerness to take a photo. As I was about to reach out to him, I felt something behind me tug on my clothing.
“Get away from him.”
I turned and saw Ryunosuke glaring up at the man. I’ve never heard him speak in such a deep and demanding tone of voice before.
“What’s wrong, Ryu?” I asked. “I want to take a picture with him.”
Ryunosuke peered down at me through his glasses, his viridescent eyes told me to listen to him. He pulled me away and I reluctantly followed him toward the direction of a cafe. Before we entered, I turned over my shoulder to see if that man was still there, but he was nowhere to be seen.
I sulked and trudged inside the cafe at the thought of such an opportunity slipping away.
Ryunosuke let out a heavy sigh and blinked slowly. “I’ll treat you to anything you want.”
My face instantly brightened and I hugged him. “Thanks, Ryu!”
Ryunosuke looked away and stiffly patted my back in response.
Nikolas and Akio joined us not too long after Ryunosuke and I got our food and drinks. After our quick snack, we walked around the streets a little more before heading home for the night.
Ryunosuke and I walked home together as our houses were on the same street. My house came before his house, so we stopped at my house first.
“Make sure to send all the photos you took tonight!”
He nodded. “Yes, I will,” He grimaced. “But it'll come with a cost.”
I groaned. “Ryu, stop it! You know I'm broke.”
“I know.” He let out an evil laugh. “I didn't say you had to pay with money though.”
I pushed the gate door open and groaned. “Just send them to me!”
He nodded and started walking. “Good night.”
I responded with a good night too. I began walking into my front yard until I remembered something. “Oh, Ryunosuke!”
But when I turned around, there was no trace of him.
I leaned my head in confusion. “Wow, Ryu walks fast.” I said to myself as I walked into my house.
Saturday (11/08/XX) 6:30PM
Ryunosuke came over to my house for the weekend to sleep over. We have sleepovers every so often, especially when I need help with my homework.
Tonight's battle: science.
It wasn't that I was bad at science. I enjoyed the subject. The issue at hand was that I was horrible at calculations.
“Sen, you used the wrong formula.” Ryunosuke smacked my head with a folder.
I rubbed the back of my head. “Do you always have to do that when I get something wrong?”
“It's called ‘positive punishment’.”
“That doesn't sound positive to me,” I grumbled.
Ryunosuke gave back the freshly erased worksheet to me. “Now, try again. This time use this formula.” He pointed to the formula on a note sheet.
After several attempts and bonks on the head later, I finally got the correct answer. I was still afraid he would hit me, so I flinched as he looked up from my work. He reached out his hand and patted my head twice.
I smiled widely at him and cheered.
“Alright, onto the next one.”
Groaning, I grabbed my mechanical pencil and started to solve the next problem.
A couple of hours of studying passed and then we went off to do our own things. This was our usual agenda: I scroll through my phone or play games while Ryunosuke is reading a book or studying.
When my mom calls our names from the kitchen we head downstairs to eat dinner which is followed by us playing video games. Finally, the night ends with us washing up and heading to bed. At this point, it's become routine.
I plopped onto the right side of the bed face flat. Ryunosuke lay on the left side and went under the sheets. I rolled onto my back and stared at the roof while he turned his back towards me.
“Hey, Ryu,”
“Hmm?” He hummed.
“What's your ideal type?”
Ryunosuke glared over his shoulder. “Where is this coming from?”
I shrugged. “Do you have an ideal type?” I asked genuinely.
“I guess,” Ryunosuke turned his head away and paused. “Someone who likes to stay active? Has a personality opposite of myself?”
“Interesting.” I pursed my lips. “What about hair color? Height? Age?”
"Eager are we?" Ryunosuke let out a breath through his nose as he continued to squint at me. “I prefer brown hair and someone who's around the same height and age as I am.”
I giggled. “You want a tall girlfriend?”
Ryunosuke shot me an annoyed look. “Alright, Sen,” Ryunosuke said. “What's your ideal type?”
I put my hand to my forehead. “Never really thought about it.” My lips curled into a smile. “If I ever find a girl that's your ideal type, I'll make sure to hook the two of you up!”
Ryunosuke rolled his eyes. “Go to sleep.”
I grinned widely at his reaction. The room quickly became quiet. I stared at the dimly lit ceiling where the moonlight shined through my window.
I can't imagine Ryunosuke with a girlfriend. I thought as I brushed my hand through my slightly damp hair. Imagining Ryunosuke going on a date with a girl seemed strange as if the thought of his grumbling, stoic person being with someone else was impossible for me.
Without a second thought, I fell asleep.7Please respect copyright.PENANApOraYXXV89
