Eventually, the group entered a landscape of rolling hills and pleasant flowers. It was a nice change from the dark depressing forest they were just in. Malia pointed in the distance, and the others looked in that direction. "It's Daludine. How...trivial" Valienta remarked. As they drew closer to Daludine, it's architecture harmoniously combined with the trees and foliage that grew in the city became clearer. They paused at a large gate. Voart knocked on the gate, and they opened, revealing a sprawling coastal city, filled with amazing monuments and buildings. At the same time, it seemed the buildings and monuments were overgrown with plants, but it seemed the buildings and plants both went accordingly to one another, causing a beautiful cityscape. Strange beings were running around, of various sizes, going on with their day to day work. They all had jack-o-lanterns as heads, and each one had a different expression. One particular of these folk walked up to our adventurers. he looked older than the rest, having a hunched back and a wooden cane. His head seemed to be more rotten and mushy than the others. He bowed to each hero (even Borth) and he said in a voice that sounded like the lead singer of Mortification on steroids "Behold, visitors have appeared in our quiet town. Let us make haste. To the Fothol!" The creature ran with surprising speed and agility to a large building at the center of the city. The group followed, and they went inside. As Borth got inside the Fothol, the 2 guards looked at each other and said "Now I have seen everything".13Please respect copyright.PENANALPTWPQMDSj
When they entered, they were amazed by the magnificent domed roof, covered in paintings and runes, and with a giant hole in the center, where natural light seeped through and lit up the room. The old pumpkin headed creature said "I am Caliboros, and I am the Elder of Daludine. Please, enlighten me on your coming, and inform me of how I can help." Voart told Caliboros the entire story thus far, and Caliboros listened intently. "I'm assuming you have never fought a Cockatrice before, have you?" Caliboros asked. "No" Ruggard replied. "Well, I can lend you some of my soldiers to help you get the chicken." The group accepted the help, and they also were offered to stay the night, which was also accepted. Caliboros held a feast in there honor, and they had a fun night.
Ruggard found himself looking out in the night, looking at the luminous stars of the night sky. Everyone else was asleep. He was in deep thought, looking at the night sky, thinking about many things. He thought about things a lot, and whenever life seemed to be too for himself, he would look at the night sky and think. He thought about Borth, cuddled up on the ground. He thought of his past, his present, his future. He still had no clue what chicken was. Most importantly, he thought about his cozy hut in the woods. He had never been outside his woods. The woods felt like home to him. He had never seen a bustling city like this. Perhaps. some would be frightened by this, but Ruggard was, comforted. He had never known the world could be so amazing outside the forest. He looked up at the sky, and whispered "Thank you." before heading to bed.
