Scene 2 opens with Leonard getting dressed nicely
Leonard: *puts on white shirt, then a black jacket over, lastly, a black tie around his neck* Alrighty, here. *tightens tie around his neck* There we go.
*cell phone rings*
Leonard: *answers the phone* Leonard speaking.
Felicity: Leonard, where are you?! The theater opens in half an hour!
Leonard: Don’t worry, Felicity. I’ll be there shortly.
Felicity: Okay, hurry! *hangs up*
Leonard: Oh, boy.
Leonard: *pulls up in parking space, turns off car, and climbs out* Today is the day! *walks through the entrance doors of the Lighthouse Theater*
Felicity: What took you so long?!
Leonard: I’m sorry, I must’ve lost track of time. Besides, why exactly did you call me down here this early?
Felicity: Because Mr. Jordan Myers wants to have a word with you.
Leonard: Mr. Jordan Myers wants to have a word… with me?!
Felicity: Yes, he’s in his office! He told me to have you meet with him as soon as you got here!
Leonard: Why didn’t you tell me about this before?!
Felicity: It was a surprise!
Leonard: *smiles and walks to Mr. Jordan Myers office and enters*
Mr. Myers: Good morning, Leonard. *spins his office chair around and stands up* It’s been a while, hasn’t it? *shakes Leonard’s hand*
Leonard: Last time we worked together was at the Ensemble Melody Performance at the Opera Arena.
Mr. Myers: And that was a fine night. Anyways, I have called you in here this morning because I have some news for you.
Leonard: Like good news… or bad news?
Mr. Myers: Would you consider being ‘co-director’ of my next show to be good news or bad news, Leonard?
Leonard: Co-director?! That’s outstanding news!
Mr. Myers: I would have asked a dear friend of mine, Edward Penlora, but he and I have gone in different directions with our careers.
Leonard: You and Edward Penlora used to work together?
Mr. Myers: He actually was like a brother to me. I looked up to him. That is until people started choosing my shows instead of his. He was more depressed than any other man I had ever seen. He rarely slept because of his depression.
Leonard: Oh, my gosh.
Mr. Myers: He was even going mad after his divorce. He didn’t want their child because he was too ‘modern’ for his taste.
Leonard: That’s terrible.
Mr. Myers: No one loved theater more than Edward Penlora. He claimed that he would put on the greatest show in history. Become the new Shakespeare if you will.
Leonard: He really loved theater that much?
Mr. Myers: Saying Edward loved theater is almost like an insult to him. Theater was his job, his life.
Leonard: And I thought you loved theater a bit too much. *scoffs*
Mr. Myers: *looks at the clock on the wall* We can talk about Penlora later. This theater opens in 20 minutes! I need to know if you want to be the co-director or not.
Leonard: Oh, well, of course! I would love to be!
Mr. Myers: That’s the spirit. But do not take this position lightly. Co-director is a very crucial job. I’m quite sure you’ll do just fine though.
Leonard: I’ll do my best.
Mr. Myers: Thank you. Now, please help Felicity finish setting up the place while I call the bank. Supposedly, the power bill hasn’t been paid yet.
Leonard: Ooh, that’s not good.
Mr. Myers: We can’t have the power go out this month. It’ll be like Halloween all over again.
Leonard: And we don’t wanna relive having someone get a skull fracture from a stage light. *exits Mr. Myers’ office and walks towards Felicity*
Felicity: What did Mr. Myers have to say?
Leonard: He just made me co-director of this year’s show! *cheers*
All students: *walk in through entrance doors and sign in*

Leonard: I’m playing cool and I’m hitting the bright side. It’s time for me to go on this endless ride! Catch my guitar and pick up all my friends. Cuz we’re not slowing down! We’re showing up call the group cuz it’s our turn. Jump on the stage; Everybody’s about to learn that every day we are the ones to rock this silent world! And we can’t stop now.
