Before we start, I'd like to apologize if there is any mistake or my use of words that might be unsightly or offensive. This is just my opinion towards the manga Inu Yashiki so you might or might not agree with this.
I've always heard of the anime and the manga series Inu Yashiki which was drawn by the same artist of Gantz. To be honest, I haven't even read Gantz at all since I'm not really into Sci-Fi and things related to it. Last time I finally read the manga Knight's and Magic which I heard many people talked about after reading the first chapter of the light novel, and although I was quite interested at first since the protagonist does coding, it gets boring for me so I dropped it.
But Inu Yashiki really had an interesting premise, or at least that's what I think. Unlike many other mangas that are either shonen-tagged or focused on ecchi or harem, Inu Yashiki instead has this 58(?) year old protagonist who is just sickly and is about to die. Even so, his family is totally uncaring towards him and he doesn't get a chance to tell them his sickness.
But everything changes and to simply put, he becomes the "hero" of the story who fights against the "villain" that is your typical high school student who appears in chapter 10 (I think) of Inu Yashiki manga. I tried to endure it to chapter 13, but that was it.
I'm sorry if you by any chance is a fan of Inu Yashiki, but I really hate it when a story is written in black and white. It feels bland. Not just that the villainous main character relentlessly kills people, he does it when it's actually unnecessary.
When I read Death Note, I feel like I can't root for anyone but Light. Of course, I do feel annoyed when he does dumb things but I still think that L is the best character in the story (if we exclude the ending scenes, of course). But here's the problem with Inu Yashiki. I don't feel particularly attached to the elderly MC at all. I pitied him, but that's it. It's not enough for me to root for him.
Probably the author tries to show how overly evil the second MC is to support this, but man, this isn't helping. At first, I rooted for the evil MC, maybe because he is an ordinary high school student and because I somehow think an evil MC is badass as hell. But killing people blindly is not badass at all. It reminds me of that one manga I just read yesterday - Gesellschaft Blume. I just can't follow at all. I feel like a metallic ball in the pinball game, being pushed from one side to another then return. I want to root for the MCs, but I just don't get them, and they feel waaaay too unfollowable and become annoying.583Please respect copyright.PENANAxhy2AGTwiz

It feels cringy.
Well, there are some good moments in this manga, particularly the first few chapters, but I'm not sure if I will pick it up again. Even if I decide to pick it up again in the future, it will take time before my impression of it dies out, just like what happened to Pandora Hearts after I read some spoilers. But I might want to read it again if there are some good actions and the plot becomes less cringy.
If I have to compare the art style used in the manga with most art styles in mangas, it certainly is quite good, but I don't think I can call it the "best" art style.583Please respect copyright.PENANAAyRV1MrW0X
I guess that's it. Thanks for reading, I guess?
Anyways, as I've mentioned, this is just my opinion, so I really do apologize if it's offensive and inappropriate.
