What was i supposed to say? I fear for my life every time i go home? Ha, home, more like another family using my foster care money to buy who the hell knows. "i'm fine" i say. "are you sure? you don't look like it." Ace insisted, his gills drooping with worry. "i'm okay, really" i try to say. "Willow please-" "i'm FINE" i said, firmer this time. we walked in silence after that.
We got to the car loop and i hugged Ace. "bye" i said with a smile. it's hard to stay mad at him i thought as i slipped into the car of my current foster family. he's always been there for me, protecting me. no matter how bad he always brightens my day. "your going to a new family today, your stuff is already in the back." my foster mom said. "alright" i replied with a sigh.
my thoughts drift to the day i met Ace. it was the first day of elementary school, i saw a crowd of kids surrounding a desk. i wasn't able to investigate because i had to sit down. as the other kids did the same i saw one kid, a gray, was sitting at the desk. although he seemed really popular he looked so sad. my flash back was interrupted by the car stopping. i slipped out and retrieved my stuff from the back hatch.
i carried my stuff up to the the door and knocked. i was greeted by two women, a pink and an albino. "hi there" the pink said as she invited me in. "we'll be you foster parents for a while" the albino said with a smile. i was ecstatic. i have lesbian parents! i thought with an excited flick of my tail. "you can call me Eileen" the pink said "and me Elodie" the albino said. "or whatever your comfortable calling us" Elodie continued. Eileen walked me to my room "will you need help unpacking?'' she said "n-no" i stuttered "this is all i have" i say as i hold up my box of stuff. Eileen let out a little chuckle, "where totally taking you shopping later" she said as she head to greet whoever just walked in the door.
i walked in and began to unpack. i felt a pang of sadness as i placed the picture of me and my mom in the bedside table. i finished unpacking and headed back into the living room. standing there was a tall blue, in a jean jacket and shorts. "Erin, meet your new foster brother" Eileen said.
