I opened the door to the coffee shop followed by my girlfriend Hanah. "You can go sit while order if you want" I say. I walk up to the counter as Hanah sits down. "Hello, what can I get for you?" the girl at the counter says. Let me correct myself; the really hot girl at the counter says. I read her name tag, Ivy. What a pretty name, I think to myself. Her black spots where almost enough to distract me from her stunning face, her gills and tail cascading like a grey and black spotted river "Can I help you?" she asks. I quickly snap out of it as i peel my eyes off of her. you have a girlfriend dumb ass! I tell myself. "uh, yes... can i get a pumpkin spice late and a iced lemonade." I say, still cringing. "Alright, and a name for the order?" she replies. "April" i say. i sit down at my table as Ivy heads back to make at our drinks.
"Do you know her?" Hanah asks. before i have time to respond Hanah continues. "was she flirting with you?" i felt so uncomfortable under her gaze. luckily Ivy came over with our drinks. "here you go." she says as she puts our drinks on the table. Hanah looked at them disapprovingly. she probably had a bad day i think to myself as i push the thought to the back of my mind. as i lift my cup and i see something written on the napkin. it was a phone number. i quickly grab my phone and punch the number in. i knew exactly who this number belonged to.
I walk away from Hanah's door as i pull out my phone. i text my mom. Can you come pick me up? i text. Sorry hun, i'm a bit to busy. she replies. i sigh as i start walking. i switch my contact to the number from the coffee shop. hey Ivy. i text. i walk about a block with no reply. i was about to put my phone away when i heard a buzz. Hey! sorry, my shift just ended. she replies. i gather my courage and i type something. Your really pretty. i was shaking so bad you could see it from the moon. i turn the corner into my neighborhood as i wait anxiously for a reply. aww thanks, the red apron is not my color. she texts back. I have the cutest green shirt that would look so good on you! i reply, appreciating the normalcy. as i look up i realize it was to late. BANG. i had run straight into a light pole. Ow. i text. XD. what happened? she replies. Light pole. help. i text back. i laughed. i could imagine her smile on the other end of the phone.
