I haven't abandoned the do-a-bunch-of-different-poem-things, promise, just working on it! Or, getting ready to work on it... Y'know what - I'm just procrastinating really.

But here's the poems I came up with from the prompts I asked for in the hub, be warned they aren't that good. also, i did them in my notebook first, and I tend to doodle.

and over, in a room lit by candlelight.

I used to see the world in monotone;

board grey buses to travel my grey school,

run home past grey bushes and skies to return to my grey life,

then you walked in, and you brought colour with you.

You keep me grounded, I tell myself,

You don't mean to hurt me, you don't know that I hang on to word you say,

to every insult you throw my way.

You walked in one fateful day in a rhinestone crown

and the reddest dress I've ever seen, the only red I'd ever seen.

You strode right up to me, you brought colour to my world,

and you remind me every day of this, of my debt to you.

I read your texts over

and over,

my room lit by a flickering candle,

and as I read, I start to see the true intention behind your words,

I start to see the real you.

It hits me -

I have lost you.

The life leaves your eyes,

And sadness chokes me,

I can no longer breathe,

I can hold my tears no longer.

You didn't deserve anything like this,

Anger chokes me, incandescent emotion takes control -

I cower in the corner of my mind.

I say things I don't mean,

I do things I know I'll regret, but I cannot stop,

for you are dead.

Your blood stains my clothes and my floor and my life,

But your light does too, I must remember,

But it's hard remember through

the gripping, inescapable, incandescent grief

that shadows me, and shall forever.

The thing with fake flowers

is that they don't need care to flourish,

they don't need love to bloom.

They're perfect for funerals

since they don't live, they can't

just like the corpse.

They don't have a scent,

They don't carry soul.

They weren't grown -

They were manufactured,

for profit, not for love.
