One of the most common questions I've been asked as a Christian Teen, especially from my peers is: "How do I resist Peer Pressure?" at least from a Christian's perspective. I have just the answer to that! All are found through Scriptural counsel from the Bible.191Please respect copyright.PENANAhOu8XBhcN4
I can tell you firsthand, I too was a victim of Peer Pressure. In Middle School, I was known as a "Social Reject", and that made me feel some type of way. So when I started High School, I made a change in my appearance and attitude...but not for the better. I was so desperate for friends that I gave in to Peer Pressure, just so my schoolmates would like me or accept me into their social circles. I know how my fellow young peers feel and through my experience, I hope to spread the Knowledge I gained to help others combat that challenge.191Please respect copyright.PENANAyl0TlcvJxI
Do you face Peer Pressure? If that's the case, I have something that will help you to deal with it.191Please respect copyright.PENANA16FOrD9VKu
Here's what you should know upfront!191Please respect copyright.PENANAuGT8i4zPPz
Peer Pressure can make good people do some really bad things. 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NLT) ~ "Don't be fooled by those who say such things, for 'bad company corrupts good character'." 191Please respect copyright.PENANAXQEzSuj4cZ
It's as if we know a certain course is wrong, but when confronted with the situation, our emotions take over and we become people pleasers.191Please respect copyright.PENANAvvBEndKTwN
Peer Pressure is not just pressure put on you by peers. Romans 7:21 (NLT) ~ "I have discovered this principle of life, that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong." 191Please respect copyright.PENANA837ZkfQMVh
The pressure that I felt often comes from myself; really, I'm the one who desires the things that my peers often talk about and sometimes they make it seem so exciting.191Please respect copyright.PENANA2KQ6wAf7NQ
Facing up to Peer Pressure is an accomplishment that you can be proud of. 1 Peter 3:16 (NLT) ~ "Do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscious clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ."191Please respect copyright.PENANAagrihcP775
At one time it was very difficult for me to face up to Peer Pressure, but now I'm not afraid to be different and I'm firm in my decisions. Nothing beats going to sleep at night with a clean conscience.191Please respect copyright.PENANAn5VIEe4zgi
Here's what you can do now!191Please respect copyright.PENANArPMYTXiVpu
When you are faced with Peer Pressure to do wrong, here's a suggestion that you could follow:191Please respect copyright.PENANAZlDUFV99pU
(1) Weigh the consequences. Ask yourself this: 'What if I give in to the pressure and then get caught?' 'What will my parents think of me?' 'How would I think of myself' Galatians 6:7 (NLT) ~ "Don't be misled, you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant."191Please respect copyright.PENANAI1ykNOXoZJ

Knowing my parents, they would ask me questions such as: 'If you were to give in, what might happen to you?' This helped me to see how Peer Pressure could lead me down the wrong path.191Please respect copyright.PENANAgl3au3RjI9
(2) Strengthen your convictions. Ask yourself this: 'Why do I believe that this course of action is harmful, either to myself or to others?' Hebrews 5:14 (NLT) ~ "Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong."191Please respect copyright.PENANAuupZt9zuVO

When I was little, I would just say no or give a brief reply, but now I can give a good explanation of why I will or will not do something. Especially if it's something I'm uncomfortable doing. I am firm in my beliefs regarding right and wrong. The answer comes from me and nobody else.191Please respect copyright.PENANAdSrKCFOmD2
(3) Examine your identity. Ask yourself this: 'What kind of person do I want to be?' Then think about the pressure you are facing and ask, 'What would that kind of person do in this situation?' 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NLT) ~ "Examng yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith."191Please respect copyright.PENANAQn2nqGrtc9

I'm content with who I am, so I don't care as much what others think of me. Besides, most people enjoy being with the real me. I appreciate that tremendously!191Please respect copyright.PENANAEfefnY1rKX
(4) Think beyond the present. I know this something most don't want to hear but in my experience, it's the God-given truth. Whether we like or not. If you are in school, in a few years or even in some months...the very people you are trying to impress may not even be in your life later.191Please respect copyright.PENANAQzJ15jlErE
(5) Prepare yourself. The Bible says in Colossians 4:6 (NLT) ~ "Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone."191Please respect copyright.PENANAH3WHX92rLc

My parents helped me a lot to combat Peer Pressure by allowing me to think of scenarios that could play out whether in school or after school. I would then act them out with them so that when I do face a real-life situation, I'll know what to do and what to say.191Please respect copyright.PENANA9A7bVICHN5
I'll leave you with a little bit of encouragment too! 191Please respect copyright.PENANALLVLQCbluI
♥ Learn to love yourself first, meditate on how you feel about yourself because it has a huge impact on how you deal with Peer Pressure. If you have self-confidence, you won't need to care what others think about you and soon Peer Pressure suddenly just evaporates out of your life. It becomes unimportant to you.
♥ If you have low self-worth, you might strive to fit in with others just to feel good about yourself. However, if you're confident with who you are, it's easier to recognize Peer Pressure for what it is and then ignore it.191Please respect copyright.PENANAwFZoaTOB8l
