When we arrived at the school, I couldn't believe what I saw in front of me. The school looked huge. It looked like a really expensive mansion. There was even a large running fountain in front of the steps. I honestly had never seen a school looking like a castle before. Me and my grandparents got out of the car once we parked, but I couldn't take my eyes off of the beauty of the school and to think, i'll be attending it from now on.
Me and my grandparents walked up the steps of the school and headed inside, but I was too focused on how big the school is that I ended up running into the door in the process. I gently rubbed my forehead as my grandma came back outside and asked if I was alright. I looked at her and nodded before walking into the school with her.
The inside of the school was another thing. It was also huge and looked just like a mansion with its long hallways and expensive décor inside. There was even an upstairs hallway inside the school so i'm assuming that there are classes on another level. Just seeing the school right now made me feel a bit overwhelmed and out of place. I'm just an average school kid that's used to small hallways and tiny classrooms. There's definitely no way that i'll be able to fit in in here.
"Why don't we head down to the office and tell them that we're here?" My grandpa suggested.
"Good idea. Let's go." My grandma said then the two of them started to walk down the hallway.
I sighed softly as I slowly trailed after them, still taking in my surroundings. When we reached the office, my grandparents requested that someone showed them around the school. That's when a beautiful tall and slender woman appeared out of one of the offices and approached us. She smiled at us and introduced herself.
"Hello. My name is Raina Hollingsworth. I'm the assistant to the Headmaster of this school." She said.
"Nice to meet you. This is my wife and my grandson. He's enrolling into the school tomorrow." Grandpa explained.
Raina nodded. "I see. Well, why don't we all take a tour of this place? There's a lot to see." She said.
Thus, we started to take a trip around the school. Raina showed us the cafeteria which was equally huge and heavily decorated. Then she showed us the courtyard where some students eat their lunch at. Next, she showed us all of the classes upstairs and downstairs and ect. There was so much to see that I could barely keep up, but last but not least, our final stop was the library. I was pretty eager to see the library since I enjoy reading and I already know that i'm going to spend so much time in the library during lunch and between classes.
"This library holds a massive collection of books. We have a huge variety books for each student's taste. Our librarian is a good person to go to to ask questions about certain books and whatnot. Most students also come to the library to study during their free periods." Raina explained as we walked into the library and started looking around.
"This is good because Asher likes to read. Don't you, Asher?" My grandma asked me.
I nodded with a soft smile. "Yeah. I like books."
Raina looked at me and smiled softly. "Then you're definitely going to enjoy our collection." She said.
We started to make our way past a table full of students, but I didn't pay much attention to them since I don't want to get noticed much by anyone, but it seemed like I couldn't avoid being detected because I started to hear a couple of them talking about me.
"Who is that? I've never seen him before." One girl said.
"Me either. Do you think he's new?" The second girl asked.
"Probably. Though, he doesn't look much." One guy said.
Without thinking, I suddenly stopped in my tracks and turned around to look at them. I looked at each and every one of them, studying them closely. They were also watching me, wondering if I was going to say something to them. I've thought about speaking up and telling them that yes, I am new, but then my eyes caught one of them.
Somehow, I found myself staring at one of the guys. He looked really sophisticated and really handsome. He had jet black hair that went down the front of his head and the sides of his head was shaved, but it looked really good and it fit his style. He also wore huge glasses. I wasn't sure why, but I suddenly felt myself becoming shy and lost for words. I've never seen anyone like him before and I couldn't take my eyes off of him. I kinda want know who he is now.
"Excuse me, are you wanting to say something?" One girl with blonde hair asked, cutting off my thoughts.
I looked at the girl and noticed how beautiful she is, but she looked pretty annoyed with my staring at them. At first, I didn't even realize I've been staring for a long time. I wasn't even staring at her to begin with. I was more interested in that guy that's sitting next to her.
I looked back at the guy to see him still staring at me. He looked like he was studying me, but I wasn't sure why or what for. Finally, I sighed then turned and walked away from them.
How embarrassing. It's not even my first day yet and already i'm creeping people out and becoming an outcast.
I pouted softly as I reached my grandparents and Raina again. I continued to follow them around till we all left the library. When we passed by the table again, I didn't dare to look at any of them. Especially that boy even though I really want to.
Once we stepped outside the library, Raina stopped in front of us and turned towards us.
"And that concludes the tour. Let's head back to the office so you can fill out paperwork and retrieve the school uniform." She said then started to walk away.
"Wait." I quickly spoke up.
My grandparents and Raina stopped in their tracks then turned towards me.
"Yes?" Raina asked.
"Um...Is it alright if I continue to look around for a bit?" I asked.
"Oh. Of course. Go ahead." She said.
"Make sure you don't get lost and meet us back at the car okay?" Grandma said.
I nodded then watched all three of them head straight to the office. Once I made sure they were gone, I turned and headed right back over to the library. I didn't go inside, though, but instead I stood outside the double doors and peeked inside through the windows. I looked over at the group again and watched the boy from before. I don't know why, but I felt oddly interested in him. Like, I really want to get to know him. If he'll let me that is.
Though, I couldn't watch him for long because I started to see the entire group standing up.
"Oh. They're leaving." I said then I quickly moved away from the door and hid myself.
I went over towards the wall and acted like I was looking at the artwork on the walls. I really didn't want the group to discover me and start making fun of me again. A minute later, the group walks out of the library and they were all talking. I slowly looked over at them and looked at the boy again, watching him. I seriously couldn't take my eyes off of him and I wish I could just talk to him. Oh well. Maybe i'll get the chance to tomorrow.
I sighed then once I saw that the group was gone, I headed out of the school and over to my grandparent's car to wait for them. I can't wait for my first day of school. I know it's going to be something.
