We were at Nadine's house while she was panicking about her looks.
"It's really just the hair" Krista said.
" It's not that bad Nadine. You can always grow it out" I added."
"Are you even up there?" Nadine cried while looking up. I'm guessing she was talking to god.
Then Nadine's brother, Darien, came in and told us to move cause he had to pee. I had to admit I thought he was kinda cute, but I'd never do that to Nadine. She's my best friend.

Later that day I walked back home. When I opened the door I saw beer cans and bottles all over the place. I started throwing them away and cleaning up the living room. I saw my mom alseep on the couch with the Tv on. There was an empty bottle in her hand. I took it and covered my mom up with a blanket. I then turned the TV off and kissed my mom goodnight. I went upstairs and saw my older sisters door opened. I looked in it and saw all her clothes and other things packed.

"Do you really have to go Jenny?" I asked her. "Yes Rose. It's for extra credit. And if I wanna get in a good college I have things to put on my application. You wouldn't understand."
My sister was always the golden child. My parents were always proud of her. She always got good grades. All the teachers loved her. All the boys wanted her. She was beautiful. My parents never payed attention to me. I was an accident. They never planned to have more than one child. So it was a surprise when they found out my mom was pregnant with me. My dad died a few years ago in a car accident. That's when my mom started drinking. She also started getting more violent. Physically and verbally. But I still had my sister for now and that's all that mattered to me.

Later that night Nadine called me. She told me what happened and I ran right over to comfort her. Her father had just died. He had a .....heart attack.....
