Skylene walked up to Saizen's desk, her face cooling down from the embarrassment. 'I can't believe I fell asleep again... I can't tell him...'
Saizen's seat had his back facing Skylene, "Miss Choi. Why did you fall asleep in my class today?" he immediately interrogated her.
Skylene flushes, "I'm sorry, sir. I..."
"Is it because you are a hostess at The Kao Club that's right down the street?"
Skylene went pale as she stared at the ground.
"....I...."
"My company has owned the Club for years.... unfortunately I was forced to keep it. I suspected and looked through the employee logs.... only to see your name. Why is a young woman like you working there?"
Skylene felt her face heat up.
"That's not all, either. You don't have a part-time job. Did you know that I own every building with the prefix, 'Kao'? Yes, Skylene. I own the entire school as well. I looked through your records... and there's no part-time job listed."
Skylene spun on her heel and dashed towards the door, yanking the handle-
It was locked.
"I can help you."
Skylene's sky blue eyes were wide as she looked over her shoulder- meeting Saizen's cool gray ones.
...
"What do you want from me?"
His laughter echoed off the walls.
"Oh, Skylene. What do I want from you? I don't want anything. I want to see you succeed."
Saizen stood up with ease and walked over smoothly- just when Skylene thought he got too close-
He had her last test grade in his hands. Embarrassed, Skylene lunged to snatch it back- only to miss miserably and land her hand on his arm-
Gravity did its work.
Just before her face smacked into the tile, Saizen snatched the collar of her shirt effortlessly, while still reading her test. Skylene- still in shock, slowly looked at his face from over her shoulder while his eyes scanned the paper.
"If I handed you a multiple choice test- you probably would have gotten a 60 or above," he shows her the 32 as the grade on her most recent Calculus test, "You aren't showing the work. Since you aren't doing that, you don't know where you are going wrong- which is why you just give up and move on." He looks at her, "I'm going to fix that."
