Lotti carefully removed the golden disc with Ivan’s assistance. They eventually found another golden disc, albeit with a hole in the middle, and a piece of paper with faded text.
“What is this anyway…?” Ivan only had more questions.
“Result of analysis: this is an old human recording device – phonograph record. The other piece is a mail message recorded on paper,” Kozak responded.
“R-record from the old humans!?” Ivan asked nervously. “Can we decrypt it!?”
“It can be done with the general analyser system in the bridge,” Kozak responded.
They speeded to the bridge hearing that, but just as Ivan wanted to put the disc into the analyser, Lotti pulled him back.
“Why?” Ivan was confused.
“I have a bad feeling,” Lotti was worried.
“How?”
“All we know about the old humans were taught by the Ark,” Lotti was feeling scared. “Is it okay for us to see what they left behind?”
“Why are you so afraid?” Ivan smiled bitterly. “These are things long gone, what can it change anyway?”
Ivan carefully put the golden disc and the paper onto the analyser.
“Phonograph mode activated. Content replay initiated.”
