Shug fully comes down from the crow’s nest to gather around all of the other crew members.
“Alright, we’ve arrived at Quint everyone! This is a town that the king said had a lead to where Brentha was located.” Yunga announced it to everyone there. “Now, since we’ve docked our ship, and since this town is known for criminal activity. I’m gonna have to leave some of you guys here to guard the ship.”
Yunga looks around at all of the crew.
“Every person that works with the king will stay on the ship. Along with two of the other criminals with us.”
Yunga looks at Shanta.
“Shanta, you will stay, along with.”
Yunga looks over at Shug.
“Shug!”
“Me?” Shug responded with a concerned look. “But I don’t want to stay on the ship.”
“Well next time don’t daydream on lookout and maybe I’ll trust you with bigger jobs. No offense, just want you to redeem yourself.”
“Fine.” Shug sighed.
“Guess I get to do nothing again.” Shanta said with a really bored expression.
“No, you’ll get to do something soon. I promise!”
“Oh, I’m not complaining. I’d rather get my freedom from doing nothing than doing the hard work.”
“Ok then. Zunci, Hillanter, and I will go into town and look for the mayor and question him. Everybody got that?”
“Yes ma’am!” The deckhands respond.
“We’ll be back at dark most likely. Zunci! Hillanter! Let’s go!”
Yunga, Zunci, and Hillanter all hop off the boat and walk into the town.
“So? Wanna talk?” Shug asked Shanta who he was standing right next to. Shanta just walks away to the back of the ship and sits down.
“I’ll take that as a no.”

Quint is a town on a cliffside on a really small island, and it consists of mainly stone buildings and also some wood buildings. Yunga, Zunci, and Hillanter are walking throughout the town, Yunga is holding a map in her hands and is looking for a specific building. They walk around the town seeing the life that people live here. Many drugged out people on streets begging for some copper or even silver. They walk by an alleyway where someone gets stabbed. They quickly walk away from the situation. They walk around the whole town looking for the mayor's office for thirty minutes.
“Where the fuck is this place?” Yunga questioned. “It’s not anywhere near where the map says it is.”
“Let me take a look at that!” Zunci said, taking the map from Yunga’s hand and looking at it thoroughly. She is looking very confused at the map and is shaking her head. “Who the fuck made this map? This is very old, hell the layout of the town is so different from this.”
“Did the king give us an old map?”
“It looks like it.”
“Son of a bitch!”
“Maybe we can just ask around in there.” Hillanter butted in pointing at what seemed like a tavern.
“Why not just ask one of the people on the street?” Zunci responded.
“I don’t know if you’ve been paying attention or not, but these people are drugged out of their fucking mind. They are not reasonable here whatsoever.”
“Then what does it help to ask people who are also drunk?”
“I was just gonna ask the bartender, maybe he isn’t out of his mind.”
“Sure, we can try that.” Yunga responded, leading the way into the tavern.
“Welp the captain agrees, so do I!” Zunci said following Yunga. Hillanter soon followed after that.
The group walks into the tavern and it is going absolutely wild. People on tables signing, dancing, and drinking. Couples kissing in booths, friends talking, the whole tavern is filled with chatter and a guy playing piano on stage. Yunga goes to the bartender who is working and serves a drink to a guy. Zunci and Hillanter let Yunga do the talking and stand around.
“Hey! Bartender!” Yunga yelled.
“What’cha need pretty woman?” The bartender asked, leaning over the counter.
“Where can you find the mayor around here?”
The bartender looks back and forth to make sure no one hears him. He leans in close to Yunga’s ear.
“Why do you want to know?”
“I just have a few questions for him.”
“Like what?”
“About a kidnapping case.”
THe bartender leans back from Yunga, takes a glass and starts cleaning it.
“Sorry, I don’t think I can do that for you!” He said really loud so people could hear.
“Why not?”
“We just don’t do that around here ma’am.”
Yunga keeps arguing with the bartender while Zunci and Hillanter watch.
“Is it that difficult to get directions to the fucking place?” Hillanter questioned.
“Are you in a hurry or something?” Zunci responded looking up at Hillanter.
“No, it’s just that.” Hillanter looks around the room at multiple people who are staring at him. “I just don’t feel comfortable here.”
“Why?”
“A bunch of people are staring at me.”
“Ooo, do people not like your kind here?”
“It’s not surprising, we’re not very much liked most places. Especially in Mintlantica’s side of the world.”
“I’m sorry to ask this but what is your kind’s name?”
“We are the-”
“Hey! We got a fucking Dirk over here!” A drunk guy yelled out interrupting the conversation. “What’re you doing around these parts ya fucking Jinai!”
“We’re not actually called Dirk’s we’re really called-”
“I don’t fucking care you stupid motherfucker!” The drunk guy pushed Hillanter.
“Are you sure you wanna do this?”
“Yeah! Cause what are you gonna do!? Punch me? I like to see you try! I’ll let you know that I was a fighting champion a year ago-”
The guy’s sentence gets cut off as Hillanter grabs him by his shirt and throws him into a table across the room disrupting the harmony in this bar.
“Get him!” The drunk guy’s friend yells charging at Hillanter.
Multiple guys charge Hillanter. Hillanter punches the leading guy in the face and he drops like a fly. He kicks the second guy in the stomach and slams him into the ground. The final guy grabs and throws him up into the air and dropkicks him into another charging crowd.
Zunci jumps into action as more people charge at Hillanter, she notices a guy carrying a knife. She runs over and tackles him to the ground and grabs his knife and stabs the guy in the head. She then jumps up, holds onto the guy's face and slits his throat and he falls to the ground. She lunges again at the other guy and stabs him in the stomach , kicks him into another guy. Stabs that guy again in the eye, stabs the guy who was knocked down in the balls and leaves him there.
“What the hell!?” Yunga shouted looking at Zunci and Hillanter fighting. The bartender proceeds to break a beer bottle and tries to stab Yunga but she dodges. “What are you doing!?”
The bartender doesn’t respond, but he jumps over the counter and goes for another stab. Yunga barely dodges but she falls to the ground.
“God my leg!” Yunga quickly thought to herself. “I can’t move as fast as I used to, not with this injury.”
Yunga kicks the bartender's leg and he falls to the ground and drops his bottle. Yunga grabs the bottle but she gets tackled by the bartender and can’t pick up the bottle. She grabs the leg of a barstool and rips it off and beats the bartender on the head with it. The bartender gets off of Yunga and stumbles back. She crawls over to the bottle, picks it up, and stands up. She then lunges at the bartender and tackles him into the ground and puts the broken bottle on the back of his neck as a threat.
Hillanter and Zunci are done fighting everyone else in the bar and they dust eachother off. The bartender looks scared as he looks around and all of the patrons of the bar are dead or passed out on the ground.
“Now will you tell us!?” Yunga said, pressing the broken bottle into his neck a little bit.
“I’ll tell you! Just please don’t kill me!” The bartender shouted in fear.
“Good.”

On the boat

Shanta looks like she is meditating on the edge of the boat. Shug walks up to her and sits down next to her.
“What are you doing?” Shug asked.
“Just relaxing.” Shanta responded.
“That’s nice.”
The conversation goes quiet for about a minute and only the sounds of the ocean can be heard.
“So you were in a magic guild?”
“Yes.”
“What’s it like?”
“Why should I tell you?”
“I don’t know, I think we should at least know eachother better. I’m just bored ok, and I thought I could spark up a conversation with you., you know? Since we were the two left behind.”
“Look, I appreciate you wanting to know more about me. But let me tell you something. You don’t need to know shit about me. Once we’re done with this mission and I get my freedom, I’m leaving Mintlantica and never coming back.”
“Where are you gonna go?”
“My fellow guild members are still free, so once I’m done here I’ll go join them.”
“That’s nice. I don’t know what I’m gonna do after this. Maybe I’ll just join Yunga, she’s probably open to having a buddy with her.”
Shug looks over at Shanta who isn’t really interested in the conversation.
“How’d you get into magic?”
“Would you please stop asking me questions? I’m trying to relax here.”
“Ok, sorry.”
Shug looks out into the sunset and enjoys the beauty of it.
“You’d think they’ll be back by now.”
“I knew I should’ve stayed inside of the captain’s cabin.” Once Shanta said that she got up and went into the captain’s cabin. Shug looks sad as Shanta walks away and he turns to look at the sunset.
“Guess I just need to learn to shut the fuck up.” Shug said to himself. He gets up and walks over to the ladder that goes to the crow’s nest. He goes up the ladder and is now on lookout on top of the crows nest and looks out into the town. He looks for Yunga, Zunci, and Hillanter but he doesn’t find them. It is now starting to get dark outside.
“They were supposed to come back right now. Hopefully nothing bad happened. If the worst comes to worst I’ll go into town and look for them.” Shug thought to himself. “I don’t even know if we are gonna complete this mission, we’re just betting on the fact that his daughter hasn’t been killed yet. Because if she is, then we are never getting our freedom. Freedom? Are we like one hundred percent sure that we’re getting our freedom if we complete this? He could just be lying to get us to do the work he doesn’t want to do. Also another thing-”
Shug’s thoughts are brought to a halt as a sword is stabbed right next to him and into the wooden pole behind him. Shug is scared stiff as he looks to the left of him and sees a human sized and anthropomorphic rat is standing right next to him holding the sword. Shug screams and pushes the rat off the crows nest and onto the deck below.
“What the fuck was that!?” Shug said out loud.
He looks down at the deck below and sees the whole crew fighting with a bunch of the same rats that attacked him.
“Oh god I was too focused on looking out for Yunga and the others that I missed these guys!c Goddamit I messed up again!”
Shug looks down the ladder and sees a few of these rat men climbing up.
“Shit! What should I do!?” Shug looks around and sees a wooden bucket full of water. He picks it up and drops it on the rat. The rat goes falling off the boat. Shug rushes down the ladder to join the fight down below. Shug reaches the bottom and looks around at all of the ment fighting. He notices Shanta is surrounded by rats.
“Shanta!” Shug yelled running over to her.
Shanta just stands there as the rats surround her and pounce on her creating a dog pile of some kind.
“No!” Shug yelled, stopping in his tracks.
It seemed like Shanta is done for but, a huge burst launches the rats everywhere and even sends Shug flying back all the way to the captain's cabin. Shanta is completely fine and doesn’t even have a scratch on her. Shant points her finger at a rat and sends a shock that launches the rat off of the boat.
Shug looks up from being blown back to see Shanta in action.
“Woah, that’s pretty fucking cool.” Shug said, rubbing his head. He landed right next to a fight where one of the crew gets slashed and dies. The guy drops his sword in front of Shug. He immediately leaps into action and grabs it. A rat focuses his attention on Shug, who is still on the ground, and lunges at Shug with his own sword. Shug blocks the blow with his sword and is being forced onto the ground. Shug kicks the rat off of him and quickly gets up. Shug slashes the rat, killing him.
Shug continues to slash other rats that are still attacking other crew members and Shanta keeps blasting away rats with her magic. They keep fighting until there are no more rats left on board the ship. Overall there were around fifty rats and at least four crew members dead throughout that whole ordeal. Shug is breathing heavily looking at the bloody floor of the deck.
“Did you not see those rats or what!?” Shanta came up to him and screamed.
“No, I didn't,” Shug responded nervously.
“Well maybe if you did, then we didn’t have to lose four people today!”
“I’m sorry alright.”
“You're sorry? Sorry isn’t enough nowadays, you need to find some way to make this up!”
“I will.” Shug looks around at the remaining crew who are looking at Shug with anger. “Even if I spotted them and warned you guys, there were so many of them we would have been overrun anyways.”
“Are you a fucking idiot or what?”
“I’m just making a logical statement.”
“I have magic and could’ve blasted them away with my spells instead of having any of these crew members being killed.”
“Ok, you’ve got me there.”
The boat begins to shake violently like it was an earthquake.
“What the hell is happening?” Shanta frantically asked.
The shaking stops as a huge rat jumps out of the water and lands on the deck of the boat in front of Shug and Shanta.
“Holy shit.” Shug said, stepping back. The rat gives a huge roar, as if it was a lion or something. “Can’t you use your magic and blow that thing away!?”
“I can, but it’ll require me to blow this boat apart!”
“Welp shit!”
The rat begins charging at the crew, and especially Shug. Shug leads the rat to the front of the boat where there aren’t that many people. The huge rat slams down near Shug and he rolls out of the way. A couple of the crew come up from behind the rat and slash at the rat with their swords. Their swords basically do nothing as the rat swings at the men launching them off of the boat.
“What the fuck are we gonna do! Swords ain’t gonna do anything to that guy!?” Shanta shouted trying to distract the rat.
Shug looks around trying to figure out a solution. He looks over at the cannon and gets an idea.
“Keep distracting him!” Shug yelled at Shanta as he ran over to the cannon. Shanta does what he says and keeps the rat focused on her. Shug quickly turns the camera all by himself but it is very heavy and is very hard to move. He gets it pointing at the giant rat and lights the fuse on the rat.
“Get down!” Shug yells at Shanta. She runs out of the way of the rat and the cannon fires and hits the rat. The rat explodes with blood flying everywhere and all over the crew. The deck is absolutely covered in blood and guts from the rat. Shug is sitting on the ground in shock that he managed to pull that off.
“Welp, I take back everything I said.” Shanta said. “You did redeem yourself. Good job, and good thinking!”
