The Muse.
Everything changes during a holiday party at Raiyu’s house, celebrating the end of the semester. The evening is filled with laughter and warmth until Briana starts coughing. It's not the first time she’s been unwell, but this time, it’s different. When she removes her hand from her mouth, the blood is undeniable, and in an instant, she faints.
At the hospital, the diagnosis is delivered: Briana has lung cancer. The doctors confirmed what she already knew—her cancer is too advanced for treatment. The damage is irreversible. Despite the grim news, Briana remains strong, enduring the slow march toward the inevitable, all while Michael remains by her side. He keeps her company, takes her for walks in the hospital, and brings her small comforts, unable to stop the disease but refusing to leave her alone.
Days stretch into weeks, and Michael finds himself in a seminar when he receives a call—a call that forces him to rush back to the hospital. The doctor informs him that Briana wants to see him and their friends. When he arrives, the others join him at her side. Briana, pale and frail, speaks her final words to them before slipping away. Her death marks the end of their brief but profound love.
In the months following Briana’s death, Michael struggles to find his way. He skips classes, suffering from an artistic block, and isolates himself at home. His friends, worried for him, decide to plan a night out to cheer him up. However, as they make plans, they receive a call from Nikolai, who is in an ambulance on his way to the hospital—Michael has tried to take his own life. After a tragic accident, Michael wakes up, confused but determined to clarify that it wasn’t intentional. Still, the shadow of Briana’s death looms large in his mind, and the road to recovery seems endless.

The Story Behind.
In a world much like his own, Michael dreams of Arien Sawyer, a man bound by duty, love, and regret. Set in the 18th century, Arien is the heir to a noble house, engaged to Zelene Everon from a young age, as was the tradition for their families. Their engagement was a symbol of their parents’ wishes—an arrangement that would secure alliances and prestige, nothing more. But as the years passed, something unexpected happened: love bloomed.
Their love, rare among the nobility, sparked envy in the hearts of others. Nobles rarely married for love, and their bond became an example of what was deemed impossible—romance between two individuals bound by duty.
Yet, like all relationships, there were moments of tension, moments that could never be taken back. One day, for reasons Michael couldn’t fully grasp, Arien and Zelene had a fight—a heated argument in which Arien, overcome by frustration, spoke words he would forever regret. The moment the hurtful words left his lips; he knew he had made a terrible mistake. He knelt, pleading for her forgiveness, but Zelene refused. In an instant, their engagement was ended.
Weeks of desperation followed. Arien, remorseful, sought to mend the rift with gifts—flowers, jewels, chocolates—anything that could win her forgiveness. He even went so far as to kneel before her parents, tears in his eyes, asking for a second chance. But fate was cruel. That same day, bandits attacked Zelene’s carriage on her way home, and she died in the attack.
“How long did it take you to get over her?” a voice asks in Michael’s mind, though he doesn’t recognize it.
“I never did,” Arien’s voice answers in his place, heavy with grief.
The story grows darker, as Arien uncovers the truth behind Zelene’s death. Her family—the Everons—were responsible, and in his fury, Arien’s rage consumes him. He destroys their mansion, killing those who were once part of her family, but in the chaos, he is gravely injured.
Bleeding, broken, and on the brink of death, Arien’s final moments come. It is then that Zelene appears to him, her figure glowing with an ethereal light, her presence soft and comforting. She speaks to him, telling him that she has read the story he wrote for her—she likes it, but she hopes for a different ending.
“For a happy ending… you need to wake up,” she whispers gently, her voice full of warmth and love.
“I love… you,” Arien whispers back, just before everything fades to black.
