ChapterTwo: Parisian
September 2155
In the city of Parisian on GH569, there was a Gen-Mod teenage boy named Liam Kent. He was with his twin brother named Lance as they just got out of school. Their classes had ended, and so did their basketball practice. They’re both juniors at their high school.
Liam and Lance get into the car they shared. Liam drove off, while Lance got started on his homework. Liam tells him, “Seriously? You couldn’t wait until we got home to do your homework?”
Lance sighed, “Look, I just want to get ahead of my studies. I’m in every single AP class there is, and I’m taking dual-credit.”
“And yet you’re juggling basketball practice?”763Please respect copyright.PENANAZpuaCDbg6m
“Yes.”
Liam sighs. Lance tells him, “It’s going to be fine. We’re Gen-Mods, remember?”
“True, but I just can’t help but worry for my little brother.”
“I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about me.”
As soon as they arrived at their house in a nice-looking neighborhood, Liam said, “I hope our team wins this time. Maybe I’ll get a cheerleader from an opposing team.”
Lance asked, “What about Kylie?”
“Kylie? The cheer captain of our school?”
“Yeah.”
“Maybe, but I don’t know. My deductions tell me something is off about her, but that’s it. I can’t get any information.”
“Really? That’s odd.”
“I know.”
The twins get out of their car, and walk into their house. As soon as they walk in, they hear voices coming from another room. They see their parents in the living room watching a news report on their flat-screen TV. The reporter was announcing that the Undergrounders from Earth will be sent to GH569 within a matter of weeks.
The twins look at each other. They remembered from their history classes learning about Earth history, and the War of 2070. Liam walks up to their parents, and asked, “So the Normals will finally get to live on the surface again?”
They turn to face him. The mother tells him, “Yes, it’s true. They’ll will finally live on the surface again, but they’ll be moving here. Earth is still unsafe for them.”
Liam smiles, and said, “That’s great! It’s about time to live on the surface!”
Lance, on the other hand, rolls his eyes, and walks to the twins’ shared bedroom. Liam turns to see him walk away. He catches up to him, and asked, “Hey, bro, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” he muttered.
“Come on. Something is up.”
“Tell me what you deduced.”
“Nah, you tell me.”
Lance sighed, and explained, “Okay, I have a bad feeling about all of this.”763Please respect copyright.PENANAizkMgzpGWr
Liam raised an eyebrow, and asked, “What do you mean?”763Please respect copyright.PENANA9AUyNPCity
“I don’t know. It’s hard to explain.”
“Then just try!”
Lance rolled his eyes, and said, “Fine. My deduction is telling me that something bad is going to happen. I don’t what it is exactly. You know how you told me that you can’t quite deduce Kylie?”
“Yeah…”
“Well, it’s like that. I can’t figure what is this bad feeling, but I know it’s there.”763Please respect copyright.PENANA64ynKKWMVt
Liam sighed, “That sucks. Wait, is this ‘bad feeling’ concerning us, or the Undergrounders?”
“I don’t know! Let’s just both!” Lance exclaimed.
Liam groans, and flops onto his bed. Lance sighed, “I’m sorry, but I honestly don’t know what exactly is going to happen, and who is going to be affected.”
With that, Lance took out his tablet from his backpack, and began reading. Liam sighed again, and took out his phone. I wonder what’s going to happen, Liam thought to himself. I can’t deduce it either myself. The only thing I can pick up is that everyone is going to be affect…including Kylie Reich.
