Annie Phillips, eighteen, stared at the arches.
She saw the dog.
'Hello, boy. Sorry, girl'.
She had long, brown hair, brown eyes, and average height. She wore a plaid shirt, blue flared jeans, a black belt, black belt, and brown shoes on her feet. She focused on the Crystal Lake Diner; she opened the door.
Inside, the locals were eating hamburgers, and sipping warm coffee.
'Excuse me, but can anyone tell me how to get to Camp Crystal Lake?', she asked the owner, Elizabeth Morton.
'About three miles, isn't it Morton', Elizabeth answered.
'Yes, there about', Enos the truck driver said.
'Enos can take you there', Elizabeth said.
'Name's Annie'.
'Enos Parker'.
'Do you live here in Crystal Lake?', Annie asked him.
'Yes, I am living with my wife, Agnes. We don't have children', he answered. He was about to say something else when Crazy Ralph, the old timer, appeared. 'You're going to Camp Blood ain't ya? You'll never leave. It's got a death curse; you'll never go back again', he said.218Please respect copyright.PENANAeN23xxK1dJ
'Shut up, Ralph', Enos said.
Crazy Ralph was sixty-three.
He was several years' older than Enos.
He rode his old bicycle around the sharp corner, and disappeared.
'He's a piece of work', Enos said.
'What's his problem?', Annie asked.
'It's the haunted campgrounds, that's all. Ghosts, memories. Bad ones, mostly'. He placed her luggage on the bottom of the truck; he was determined to take her half-way up the road that led to the camp.
'There's no such thing as ghosts', Annie said.
'Sometimes, there is talk of death; sometimes not. Go! It's for the best', Enos said. Annie shrugged.
'I am looking after 50 kids at camp. You're acting very strange'.
'Leave'.
'I can't leave'.
'You're like my three daughters. Head full o' rocks'.
'I'm an American original'.
'I'm an American original', Enos whispered.218Please respect copyright.PENANA1wgwqPyrUr
He stopped at the camp's sign.
'Be careful'.
'I will. Good bye!', Annie said.
She grabbed her luggage, and walked away.
Enos didn't see her again.

The jeep came around the bend at 90 mph.
It stopped quickly.
Annie didn't see the driver.
'Camp Crystal Lake'.
She made the mistake of getting in.
The driver was silent.
Afraid, she gripped the luggage, and jumped into the grass near the woods. Pain shot up her right leg; Annie limped. She ran through the oak tree. The killer aimed a knife at her.
'No! No!'.
The knife came downward, and the screams started.
