I have to thank you for reminding me of this memory, and a bunch of others. I stumbled upon our compilation of videos that we've recorded since ten years ago, and I'm going to talk about one of them!
So this video says it happened five years ago. Back then, I went to a church and usually volunteered there with my family. The younger kids (3-5 years old) were preparing for an annual Christmas performance, where they dance to songs up on stage.
It looked like a mess, and the adults were having trouble keeping them focused on the dances. I offered to help, and they said I could be one of those people that does the dance downstage while the kids try to follow my movements.
(By the way, my brother was in that age group so he had to do it as well!)
By Christmas, I memorized the dance. We ushered the kids on stage and I was below them. I wasn't really sure how prepared the kids were, but it was a hilarious mess, I'll say!
I was frantically doing the moves trying to keep up the kids. My brother exaggerated all the movements, smacking the girl next to him on accident every few seconds. One boy (who was the pastor's son) just stood there with a blank face. Two girls made up their own moves and started doing some kind of handshakes?? Then the girl in the middle was going around in circles pulling her skirt up (she was wearing pants). It was just hilarious, and I couldn't help but stop to laugh.
My favorite was the boy next to my brother doing the chicken dance. My brother kept looking at him with a scowl but he never noticed.
Anyway, this is some funny story that happened! We had a good laugh over it years later.
