Victory

has never been as bitter as this -

I lift a trophy of bone

of blood

of illusion

and of sickness. I know what it's made of

and I flaunt it anyway because I know that I am made of

the very same.

Second place is silver, like your eyes,

so why do you always end up with gold?

Your smile comes as easy as your victory. Do you not know

that each medal around your neck, each trophy in your cabinet

You are inferior.

I still applaud you. I still smile even when smiling

makes me sick. I still listen when you speak of your awards,

and suffocate my self-worth. I still love you

even when your oblivious happiness
