The engine room door was more than solid, the Security Force took 15 minutes to barge in.
“Go go go!”
Under the order of Natasha, the automata kicked down the door and a thick smoke emerged.
“What’s that!? Gas!? Analysis!”
“Report! It’s carbon dioxide!”
“Petty trick… what’s that!?”
There was a silhouette behind the smoke, and the automata aimed.
“Fire!”
The automata fired as Natasha commanded. Fifty rounds were shot into the target and it went down. But when the automata closed in for examination, they only found a pile of junk covered by clothes.
“What!?”
Suddenly, an automaton was hit with a blast, and several around went down with it. Another shot was heard, and several other automata went down. Only with the third blast the automata managed to discover Ivan was hiding far behind some obstacle.
The automata fired and Ivan was hit. If it wasn’t for the powered armour, he would have been seriously injured if not dead. Ivan returned fire and brought down a few automata.
Natasha and the Prefect hid behind the door right away, and Yui, who had been observing from far behind, even hid around the corner outside the hallway.
“Why does he have armour? Where did that gun came from!?” Natasha was scared.
“The armour… was issued for dangerous work with the engine!” The Prefect hastily checked the log. “And that gun… there are no record, perhaps he made it in private!”
“How is that even possible! That blast was from a grenade!”
While they were still talking, a stray round exploded near the door and blasted them away. Ivan moved out from the cover, moving quickly with the powered armour, and hitting back at the automata squad. The automata were raining bullets with the Conglomerate CM65 assault rifle, without a will to conserve themselves, they were tough to defeat without exploding rounds.
Ivan then hid behind some new obstacles; he fired back at the automata and hid again quickly. The automata were quick to establish a new firing line and forced Ivan to find a new spot. Ivan could destroy at least one or two automata every blast, but he would in turn got a few hits. His powered armour could defend against the CM65, but it was not invulnerable. As the enemies fell, his armour battered.
