"Are you going to tell me your name?" Asked Mist softly. The two had been traveling for a few hours now and Mist was feeling weak with hunger. Her tail was drooping, and her throat was screaming for water. She longed for a lake, pond, river, STREAM. Anything that would offer a water source...
"Downpour."
"Hm?" Ask Mist, she had forgotten what she was talking about.
"My name is Downpour." He repeated "And you are?"
Mist had to drag her mind back to the present to focus. "Oh um- Mist, I'm Mist."
She felt hazy, like her brain had walked into a thick fog and was struggling to find a way out.
I'm going to die of heat... She thought grimly.
"Can we find some water?" He asked.
Mist raised her head. "It's not my- Look!" She shrieked and ran forward. She suddenly had a burst of energy, bigger than any other.
"A way out!" Downpour beamed.
They both raced to the small ledge hanging over the cliff face. Mist bunched her legs, preparing to leap.
ROAR!
They both whipped around, each growling softly. Mist felt her eyes narrow, her fur stand on end. She sniffed the air.
"It's- A tiger!" Mist screamed.
Everything seemed to click, the pieces falling into place.
"You were running from the tiger!?" She yelled at downpour. "And it was TRACKING YOU!" She roared in fury.
Downpour looked guiltily.
He suddenly snapped back to the present. "No time! We have to go!"
But before she could react, before she could think. She felt claws dig into her back, her head banged into rock- And she passed out.
