So falling through the sky is certainly not my favorite activity. But to be fair neither is fighting on the back of a dragon being in the middle of a huge war that has nothing to do with me or being attacked by guys who don’t feel pain. Now if you haven’t already guessed I am in Alagaesia, and if I am correct – and I am quite sure I am – This battle takes place in the end of book 2. Which means that at any moment Saphira and the red dragon thorn will land and their riders will continue to fight. Meanwhile I have about a minute before I hit the ground and probably five or six before I transport back home. Right as I hit the ground I felt a magic net almost slow my fall. The net gave out along with the rest wards. I fell the last five feet and got a mouth full of dirt. As I got up and dusted myself off I saw Thorn and Saphira spiral down toward me. I scramble out of the way not wanting to be crushed or burned stabbed slices slammed… you get the idea. From where I was I couldn’t tell what they were saying but I knew it any way.”… Besides, Zar’roc should have gone to Mortzan’s eldest son not his youngest.” Murtagh smiled. “I never told you my mother’s name, did I? And you never told me yours. I’ll say it now: Selena….” I heard the next line from where I stood. “You’re lying!” I felt myself fading out. “You and I, we are the same Eragon. Mirror images of one another. You can’t deny it.” The world faded out completely. “You’re wrong….”
I sat straight up in bed. Flinging my precious copy of Eldest on the ground. As I reached to pick it up I paused. Feeling something in my pocket. I reached in and brought out a bright blue scale the size of my hand. I stared at it. It was not a dream. And somehow I will return.
