Olympia turned around and headed back into the woods. She let out a sigh knowing that it was going to be hard being on her own. Olympia stopped at the edge of the wood and looked back into town. She knew that it was better for her to be away from them.
She hadn’t known them for long but she didn’t want them to get. Olympia knew that someone would be after her eventually and them being away from her was the best decision.
“You can do this.” She whispered to herself walking into the forest. Olympia started to look for a shaded clearing in the forest like Felix had done. After finding one she started gathering branches to build a fire.
She gathered a few and piled them up together. Olympia looked at the branches she gathered and dropped to her knees. She didn’t have anything to start the fire with. She bawled her hands into a fist. Just a few minutes alone and everything was going wrong.
The sound of her stomach growling interrupted the silence. Olympia knew she had to find something to eat before it got dark. She knew that hunting down something to eat was not the option.
She started to look around the trees for fruits. After searching for a while she found an apple tree. Olympia knew that it wouldn’t fill her up but it was the start. She jumped trying to grab an apple from the tree, but it didn’t work.
Olympia put the sword against the tree and started to climb up. She tried grabbing the apple again but she still couldn’t reach it. She climbed on the branch of the tree and reached for it once again.
The sound of something breaking made Olympia stop for a second. She reached again after a second or two. She heard the sound again, making her look back at the branch. It was about to break.
The branch moved down, breaking a bit more. OLympia reached for the apple once again, this time grabbing it. As she grabbed the apple the branch broke taking her with it. A bunch of apples fell with her.
Olympia fell, her back hitting the ground hard. She inhaled as the sharp pain went through her body. After a while she got up, picked up a few apples and headed back to the spot she had picked out. She ate a few apples before leaning back on a tree and falling asleep.
The sound of branches breaking woke Olympia up. She stood up grabbing her sword and pointing in the same direction as the sound. Seconds later a small animal passed by. She put the sword down.
Olympia stretched, her body was aching with pain from the day before. Her stomach growled, she needed to get something to eat. She looked at the apple. They weren't going to be much help. She grabbed the sword and headed out to hunt.
This was the first time she was going to hunt. Olympia had read about huntings in books but never paid much attention to it. She had no clue what she was doing or what she was going to do.
Movement caught her eyes making her stop in her tracks. A bunny came out of the bushes. Olympia swung the sword trying to hit it, but missed. She swung one more time but missed once again.
Olympia grew frustrated and threw the sword at the bunny. The sword hit a tree, letting the bunny go. Olympia screamed out, angry that she couldn't catch it. She pulled out the sword from the tree. She let out a sigh, calming down a bit.
She walked around for a bit and found a river. Olympia kneeled down and splashed some water on her face. The cold water send shivers down her spine. She grabbed a handful of her hair, bringing the sword up to her hair.
Tears fell down as she let go of her hair. Nothing was supposed to go like this. Olympia looked up thinking of Felix and Fella. Did they find something to eat? Were they alright?
A heavy feeling came over her. She missed them even though they hadn’t known each other long. She heard footsteps behind her. Olympia made her way across the river hiding herself behind one of the rocks.
Olympia peaked over the rock. A group of people were there talking and watching their weapons. They weren't soldiers or invaders.
“Hey!” one of them yelled, making Olympia duck down. In the corner of her eye something came into view next to the rock. She turned her head to see what it was. It was a black cloak. “I’ll get that when we leave.” she heard them say.
A few seconds went by and Olympia slid her hand to get the cloak. She heard movement again and stopped. She slid her hand and grabbed it, quickly pulling it to her. Olympia got up, making sure not to be seen.
She went back to where she had slept. Apples were on the floor. Olympia picked one up to eat. She started searching through the cloak to see what she could find. A small pouch with a few coins was in its pocket.
The day passed quickly and soon it was night time. Olympia rested her back against a tree. She put the cloak on her. She fell asleep seconds later.
A warm yet cold feeling hit Olympia as she woke up from her sleep. She got up and let out a yawn. She put the cloak on and went to get some more apples, deciding that hunting was a big no.
Footsteps and the sound of horses filled her ears. She hid behind a tree and took a peek to see what it was. Her face filled in horror once she saw the invaders again. Fear overcame her as she hid behind the tree once again.
Olympia pulled the hood over her head and ran towards the town. She knew she had to get there before they did.
Once she reached the end of the forest, it was already too late. The invaders had already reached the town. Screams filled her ears as she came closer to the town. Houses were being lit up with flames.
She wanted to help but what could she do. Olympia looked around to try and find Felix. Where could he be? Was he ok? She took a deep breath and drew out her sword.
Olympia helped a few people as she entered the town. She tried her best to fight them and not be seen at the same time. Flames came into view but they were different from the normal ones. She knew who they belonged to.
A smile grew on her face, she knew that they were safe. Olympia headed towards that direction but stopped as she saw a mother screaming and crying. SHe looked over at her and decided to help.
“Everything alright?” Olympia asked. “My baby is still in there.” she cried out.
Olympia looked at the house that was up in flames. She threw the sword on the flames and headed inside the house. She covered her mouth as it was filled with smoke.
Crying came from the upstairs, making her head up there. “Hello!?” She yelled out. A little girl's voice was heard from down the hall. She tried to open the door but something was blocking it.
She pushed against the door a few times. On the last push it finally opened. The little girl was curled into a ball in the corner of the room. Olympia made her way to her. “Come.” she whispered to her not wanting to scare her.
The girl threw herself into Olympia’s arms. She picked the little girl up and covered her with the cloak. Wood started to fall from the ceiling. Olympia quickly made her way out of the house. The top of the house fell as they got outside.
Olympia handed the little gir to the mother that was still crying. “Thank you!” she said to her. Olympia gave her a smile. She picked up the sword and led the mother to where she saw the coloring flames.
Olympia and the women turned to a street. It was full of invaders but it looked like people were fighting them off. She moved closer to see who they were. Olympia couldn’t see very well who they were.
The group of people seemed to be making a path for them. She took the woman by the hand and made their towards them. They tried to pass through the crowd that was fighting. Olympia made sure that the women and the little girl weren’t getting hurt in any way. Flames came into view once again creating a gap for them.
She could see people rushing to keep the gap. Olympia and the woman quickly ran through the gap to the others.
Olympia looked around to see the people fighting the invaders. She saw someone back away from the crowd. She quickly followed behind. “Felix are you alright?” She asked as she saw him on his knees. He looked up at her. “Yeah, I’m fine.” He said hiding his hands.
She let out a sigh. She could tell he was lying. She kneeled in front of him. Olympia pulled his hand towards her. “Please don’t lie to me.” She whispered. She looked down at his hand, they were burnt black.
“I’m sorry, this is all my fault.” Olympia said. He pulled his hand away from her. “How is it your fault?” he asked softly.
“If you hadn’t met me, none of this would be happening.” She stated. “If I hadn’t met you, I would probably be a corpse back in the capital.” He replied.
Olympia wanted to ask something but left it at that. “So where to next friend?” she asked him. “We need to rest for now.” He said. “I also need to find a river to wash my burns.”
“There’s a river in the forest.” Olympia said to him. Felix grabbed his dagger and stood up but he dropped it, pulling his hands back. “Felix how about I carry it for now.” she said to him. She was worried about him.
Olympia grabbed the dagger. She felt something on the grip of the dagger. She looked to see it covered in blood. “Are you bleeding?” She asked Felix. He didn’t look at her. She gently grabbed his hand and softly ran her finger on his palm. He winced and pulled away a little.
There was a bit of blood on Olympia’s finger. She grabbed the cloak she was wearing and patted his palm a bit to take off the blood. He pulled his hand away. “I’m sorry.” she said.
“It isn’t your fault.” Felix replied. She saw Fella crawl down his cloak and nudge his other hand. “Ow, Fella!” he exclaimed, making him pull his hand away. She went back up on his shoulder.
Fella looked at Olympia. “Felix, let me see both of your hands please.” Olympia stated. She saw him hesitate a bit.
“You know it’s not nice to lie to someone.” She said. Felix sighed and held his hands out. Fella let out a small flame to illuminate them. Olympia could now see his palms. They had blisters and blood was coming out of the cracks and blisters.
Olympia held both of his hands. He winced and pulled his hands away. She grabbed them once again. She started whispering something that she had read in a book she had. Of course she didn’t think that it would work.
“Olympia, please.” she heard him say. He pulled on her grip a little. She let go of his hands. “Sorry.” she said. He hid his hands in his cloak. Of course that wouldn’t work. “Do you want to head to the river?” She asked
“Yeah. lead the way.” He said. Olympia headed towards the forest.368Please respect copyright.PENANA6REUtg9t8q
