“Um… The King sent me here. You are the first stop for my assignment.”
“And what assignment would that be now Takumi.” Misa said not trying to hide her displeasure and sarcasm in her tone.
“My father, The King. Sent me here and I will recite word for word what he told me to do: I want you to be a leader of the people but you can’t have girls distracting you. You will need to travel to the suburbs, and visit all the families. Some of them are very poor and rundown. You must be careful also, there are a mix of monsters and humans. I will have Ai go with you.” As I said the last part I glared at Ai telling him not to mess this up for me.
“Personally I didn’t want to come.” Ai says out of nowhere when Misa opens her mouth to ask why I came to this area first.
“Thanks for your input there Ai.” I say still annoyed at him for following me even when dad wasn’t watching and he could of gone home which I would of preferred. There must be some ulterior motive to why he came along because I know from experience that he doesn’t follow my father's orders most of the time and especially not now. Gou sees Ai, starts crying and hides behind Misa. Misa looks a little bit confused, and silently Gou mumbles what happened behind her sister, Misa gets pissed at Ai goes to lunge at him but Gou tells Misa not to hurt him. I’m standing there in the background listening to them bicker about what happened in the cafeteria 3 days ago.
“Okay, break it up we’re not here to start anything with you. We’re here because of an official business order from the King.” I say tackling Ai away from Misa and Gou.
“Let’s continue thing inside over a cup of tea shall we?” Gou mumbles a little scared of what she is doing.
“I will not allow this creepy, snotty, uptight, spoilt, asshole prince in our house.” Misa protests.
“Oh.. come on Sis it’s only 15 minutes. Right boys?”
“Yes… No...,” Ai and I look at each other, “15 minutes…1 hour.”
“Stop Ai, 15 minutes and we’re out and they we will only come back if I have another order from my father.” I then mumble, “And my dad doesn’t make Ai come with me.”
As we walk into the run down flat, I take in every detail that I can, the smell of Misa’s home and thought this feels like more of a home than mine ever was. The rickety floorboards creak as I walk along.
CRACK!!! The floor breaks out from underneath Ai’s feet and he falls right through onto underlining the house.
I try to stiffle my laugh but it was to no prevail.
“Shut up T Bird”.(My favorite nickname, *note the sarcasm*)
“What the fuck Avalanche” why does he call me that, geez(Ai thinks in inner monologue).
As I lean down to help Ai out of the hole, (he so kindly created I might add), he whispered in my ear, “I feel sorry for the brown people now….”
{To be taken into consideration the previous statement is part of Ai’s character, we are not against people of colour!}
I laugh and look at Misa and Gou because they are giving us looks of utter confusion so I opened my mouth to clarify but Misa just shakes her head in disapproval, “I don’t wanna know.”
Gou leads us to the kitchen that is much like the rest of the house, old, rotting and rundown.
Gou makes everyone tea, and Misa just glares coldly at as while we sit there embarrassed and uncomfortable. Ai places a hand on Misa’s thigh when she sits down. Misa gets angry, and says in a harsh tone,
“Hands off pervert”. After that Misa abruptly stands up and tells us to get out as politely as she can which is not very polite as her vampire fangs are coming through. Good Job Ai, you made her angry... But Gou is persistent to get her to calm down. Misa's fangs come out all the way and she storms out the house. Gou hollers out to Misa “Knock it off sis, they are just following orders, they can’t help doing their job!”
“Who cares about a stupid job it doesn’t justify them being near any of us lower breeds!” Misa retorts angrily trying not to scare Gou too badly with her vampire features (May I remind you that Gou didn’t inherit any). Gou whimpers, when Misa slams the door..… (must be hard having a short tempered sister who happens to be a vampire).
